This count is part of the data used to make decisions on housing in Kamloops.
People need to realize that those 55+, our seniors at a 26% increase, are experiencing homelessness.
And they are many more on the brink of homelessness....which can bring more harsh realities coated with trauma.
I am so sorry for your beautiful boys' loss. Sending you much love and healing ππ«β€οΈβπ©Ή

Ironic that those harping for change at top (f*ck Trudeau brand) voted exactly the same, now for years, in their locals.
Interior ridings have been swept (&slept), yet again! Small 'c' conservative stranglehold will be unbearable & exhausting.
With Pierre losing his seat, do you think the lies will stop pilfering media platforms?
I sure hope so....
IMO, that is a crazy number of Con wins, considering the change that was wanted. I was sure half of those riding would change 'from' Conservative.

Also, brother murdered last year and dealing with his mother's mental health.
Very sad outcome that very possibly could be health with much sooner concerning grief, loss, and trauma.
We have many in k-12 suffering similarly but zero support; not their 'educational mandate'! π‘
Can't wait to see more BC results. We need a change in kamloops!

I really enjoyed and completely align with this new research. Great presentation and run through of the terminology, data, and information about the sketchy and old research of the claims.
Thankyou so much for all your efforts in this important work, Ian!π

The @momsstoptheharm.bsky.social community mourns Trey (Ashtrey) Helton. Trey was a well-known, and much loved harm reduction advocate in the DTES. He was an artist, an actor and a dear friend to many.
RIP dear friend. You leave it legacy and will never be forgotten.

Devastatedπ that a colleague in harm reduction passed away yesterday.
Trey Helton toured me inside OPS on Hastings close to @InsiteOfficial. He introduced me to the volunteers & answered every question I had, which is a feat!
T's wisdom&kindness forever in my π

Wondering where federal parties stand on Canadaβs toxic drug crisis? With lives at risk daily, MSTH reached out to the parties for clarity on their plans and platform.
Some responded, others didnβt.

βThis increased criminalization is going to sweep up my co-workers, both my union brothers and sisters, and those who work cash construction, many of whom got addicted by trying to treat physical pain or mental health problems acquired at work.β
22.04.2025 23:59 β π 2 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0This image from Moms Stop The Harm features a red circular pattern of footprints and includes a powerful message challenging misconceptions about substance use: Donβt equate all substance use with mental illness Itβs often driven by trauma, pain, or poverty Forced treatment fails Support and safe supply heal Punishment only keeps us going in circles It highlights the need for compassionate, evidence-based approaches rather than punitive ones. The circular footprints reinforce the idea that without change, harmful policies keep repeating.
Substance use isnβt always linked to mental illness .. itβs often rooted in trauma, pain, or poverty. Forced treatment fails, while support and safe supply offer healing. Punishment just keeps us stuck in cycles. Let's choose care over criminalization. β Moms Stop The Harm

This is a big deal for CSAM.
Unfortunately, nothing in the Liberal platform suggests theyβll protect politically besieged supervised consumption sites. Not one mention of harm reduction period.
Their new drug policy ideas amount to empowering cops to tear open mail now with a βgeneral warrant.β
Itβs not uncommon for people seeking on demand detox and treatment to be told to call daily for a spot.
This is heartbreaking and discouraging, especially in crisis.
Help should be there when someone is ready.
Have you or a loved one experienced this? Please share and include your province.
I agree. Good point! As a public school teacher, I've witnessed the misuse of testing in both BC and California. Thanks for that insightπ
