Sometimes the Star Trek episodes just have fanfiction plots. "X and Y have to get married for legal reasons but then discover they need to prove they love each other!".

The mirror universe in Star Trek is just so much hornier. Got to the season 4 episode and wow, every scene has at least one kink thing.

Ironic that I hit "Rules of Engagement" tonight in ds9. The Klingon Lawyer is eating up every scene, such a good evolution of the character.

It doesn't help that every entry in this space is themed pretty differently; Dishonored has a very different aesthetic from Nimona, even if both would have a fantasy broadcast tower!

Maybe there's a future world where everyone learns to conscientiously use AI and it becomes a pure productivity tool. But that seems to be a dream unanchored from reality as the pure anarchists and communists who imagine every human working synchronously for collective improvement.

Fundamentally, "make a bunch of garbage and sort it out later" has been a society wide problem for a while, and LLMs have only scaled that up. There's certainly some good use cases where machine learning was already used and 90% accuracy is good rather than unusable, but the net effect is negative.

While there's certainly some questions about NPR's reporting, I think it's still a relevant data point in "is AI useful" — advocates may point to idealized cases (e.g. working with the AI and validating it's results), there's way too much temptation *not* to validate and just let it rip.

I have to say Deadlock really nailed the ARAM format; while hero selection isn't actually mandated random, the itemization feels sufficiently dynamic. Chasing the legendary items is fun too — there's a lot of them and they do a lot to keep things fresh.

Yeah Coogler and Big Jim have fully released another movie and are onto the project after that since them.

He unfortunately does not do well with big CGI battle scenes still, Wakanda Forever has a very meh third act battle. Didn't help that all the underwater stuff was overshadowed by Avatar 2 the same month.

Watching more DS9 and now I'm wondering how deep into the series the Magic UB set will go. Both being 90s products makes me think it's going to at least get the main cast with explicit cards, but I'm less sure about the guest stars like Gul Dukat
