Just read Sula, by Toni Morrison. It unpacks the risks of being self defined & the risk of letting others define you. The innocence & internal struggles that all the characters in the book have, make the reader recall & review personal actions.

This book is powerful. Clint Smith unearths some aspects of history that are very sad, surprising, & not debatable. NYC is rife with a legacy that I thought was mainly situated in the South. I have been to Central Bark, the Statue of Liberty, and walked past Hamilton Customs House.
