The Interstellar ship Sagan II is visible from the window of the Petra Shuttle, which has recently undocked. Anakeia, an Earth-like sterile world shines below. Date: June 2nd 2518.

Working on a hard scifi #worldbuilding project. Set in the 26th century, forests float on alien oceans, the freedom of superintelligences is questioned, hydrogen-oxygen atmospheres combust. All grounded in plausible science.

Btw, your technique is really good, perspective looks correct, shading and rendering are very natural, the compositing is good too. Afaik those are the main things you'd study, and you're already pretty skilled in it. That's not to say that you shouldn't take classes, just smth to keep in mind

Smth I've learned from ML is that when you're stuck in a maxima (can't improve), you should increase your step size, i.e. trying out very different things, exploring parameter space. Maybe try completly different art styles or different subjects.

(I don't check bsky often srry for the necroposting)

just to be clear, by language, I mean human language. couldn't fit it in the message

So yeah I don't think there's literally another level of intelligence above human of which we simply cannot comprehend at all. We can, in principle, understand anything. It's just that sometimes we need to break it up into smaller bits :)

You can do any computation in language, that's true bc it is turing complete. You can write data, make algorithms and have humans run them. Chimps can't bc their comm system isn't turing complete. At worst, the alien info would take many ppl to fully understand, like is the case with modern physics.

Idk I've been thinking of something. Often, science communicators (e.g. Neil D. Tyson) mention how the difference in intelligence from aliens to us might be so great that it's like explaining algebra to a chimpanzee, it'll just never get it. But I think I disagree? (1/2)
