Ethics and Integrity Commission to review lobbying, disclosure and access to government The Prime Minister has today asked the Ethics and Integrity Commission to carry out a review into lobbying, disclosure and access to government.

This is a hugely welcome step from the PM and @darrenpjones.bsky.social. Pleased to see gvt moving forward on driving up standards in public life.

That means closing loopholes in our lobbying and transparency rules to restore trust in politics as a force for good.

Conduct Committee publishes report on the conduct of Lord Chadlington - Committees - UK Parliament The House of Lords Conduct Committee has today published a report on the conduct of Lord Chadlington, recommending he be suspended from the House for 12 months.

Shocking findings from the COVID PPE fast lane - this time Tory peer, Lord Chadlington.

❌ 3 breaches of Lords rules:

1. providing parliamentary services in return for payment or reward

2. failing to co-operate with previous investigations

3. failure to “act on his personal honour”

Full report👇🏻

Nigel Farage backer loses $550,000 on bet over Iran war George Cottrell, who was previously convicted of wire fraud, put money on President Trump not bombing Iran by February 28 — the day of the US-Israeli strikes

George Cottrell is a convicted fraudster and should be nowhere near British politics.

Reform need to explain why they’re happy to have him as one of Farage’s key lieutenants.

UK-EU reset lacks “direction, definition and drive” - Committees - UK Parliament Report: From a Common Understanding to Common Ground: Building a UK-EU Strategic Partnership fit for the future

Important report out today from the Foreign Affairs Committee.

We've spent months scrutinising the UK-EU reset.

The conclusions should provide a warning to Ministers: we've made important steps already, but we need clear timelines and deliverables to drive negotiations and secure benefits.

A hard truth: a democracy can be stolen without anyone taking away a single vote.

Today, the Representation of the People Bill comes before the House. The UK must close the loopholes that let dirty money and foreign interference shape our politics unseen.

Always a joy to have a Carrs steak pasty, coffee and a sweet treat at Middlebrook after campaigning.

What’s your pasty of choice?

Support for kinship carers is something I have raised with government. Delighted to see the Labour government has selected Bolton to be one of seven pilot 'Kinship Zones', accompanied by record investment.

So proud to support my friend Angeliki Stogia in Gorton and Denton today.

She’s worked so hard for Manchester for years as a local councillor.

Her passion for the city region shines through.

Labour's Angeliki Stogia is the only person who can stop Reform in Gorton & Denton on Thursday.

Russian firms have routed $8bn of trade through British island territories since invasion of Ukraine Anti-corruption group Transparency International have catalogued ‘sanctions circumvention’ channelled through ‘unaccountable jurisdictions’

This is why we need financial transparency in our Overseas Territories.

Not because it’s a nice to have or some niche pipe dream.

But because the veil of secrecy allows bad fair actors to use secrecy to their benefit - in this case evading sanctions on Russia.

Deputy council leader apologises for sharing post about MP Lancashire County Council's deputy leader said he had not seen text calling for the MP to

Deputy Leader of Lancashire County Council shared a horrendous post calling for a MP to be shot.

Yet he faces no consequences for his actions.

2 MPs have been murdered in the past 10 years.

This is why MPs have to use security & take precautionary measures - awful.

Labour is rising to the generational challenge of properly supporting children with SEND.

We will set out our vision and ambition for a schools system where every child can achieve and thrive.

As defence chiefs, we warn you today about Russia, and say this rearmament is not warmongering | Richard Knighton and Carsten Breuer Our security is more uncertain than in decades. “History teaches us that deterrence fails when adversaries sense disunity and weakness. If Russia perceives Europe in this way, it may be emboldened to extend its aggression beyond Ukraine. Indeed, we know that Moscow’s intentions range wider than the current conflict.”
