I disagree. Focus on court decisions reinforces the notion that governing=what the federal government does. The vast majority of our lives are governed by state and local laws and ordinances. We focus on court decisions because it’s easy to do so.

I've never used the phrase, but I've heard it on podcasts with British hosts. I suspect Tom Holland has used it on occasion. It seems rather plummy to me, but my understanding of British class often lets me down.

I think separation of church and state is a good thing. And I don't think that religion is what makes candidates divisive, as a general rule. I'm not a Christian, but I'm pretty sure that someone can be one without being a Christian Nationalist.
