A nice badger footprint — well, two footprints, as the smaller hind print overlaps the larger front one (claw marks visible). A shape like that of a little bear.

I'm glad the Robin was there to sing and soothe, sorry the days are heavy for you at the moment - wishing you many choruses and winged wonders to see you through.

Distance is painted in soft slate and khaki trees, unknown wings blurring past. Holding nostalgia, for every moment I've looked but not seen, for faded fuzzing landscapes of 90s TV, for forest names- then recognition- of one old oak, urging me to wave, as though it will return the gesture.

Moore hen curiosity is peaking, gliding past in their little alien head gear. I could look for the crocuses but a sure sign of spring are these little adventurers scaling boat roofs, sliding down cratch covers and whizzing along gullies. Little spring elves of the canal

Evensong dances down salmon streaked skies, robin and wren asserting their places as they watch the sun dissipate into the canal below. Oval tipped green blades poke out of quagmire, young daffodils still headless. Beside them closed snowdrops shine like pearl earrings in a whispering wind.
