I was reading a not-particularly-well-written far future science fiction novel from Kindle Unlimited this week when a rogue “ChatGPT said:” turned up in the text. I’m not sure if I was more disappointed I was reading an LLM’s work product or that the editor missed it.

There are problems all over the place but the team fixed my biggest concern from last year, and is winning their share of one score games. It’s amazing we have a legitimate shot at the playoffs in Coen’s first year. The offseason will be fascinating as I expect a lot of turnover.

I get to watch the Jags win in person, and the Jays get it done and win the division. A good Sunday, I think.

I first encountered this with YouTube creators trying to avoid demonetization. It might be the first time I noticed the influence of big tech on language development (even if it had been happening for years by then).

Sometimes I worry that holing up during COVID destroyed my ability to have normal conversations with people, but then I remember that I lacked the ability to be normal in conversations way before 2019.
