So, this obviously fucking sucks because before a game should be anything else it needs to be a game. But if you’re always thinking about the other thing it can be it’ll shape your decisions completely to the point the game suffers.

From a capital standpoint, a game being just a game is a good way for it to make a very limited amount of returns with no residuals. If you’re a big company, it has to be a game -AND-… something. That can be gambling, or it can be subscription, or it can be an esport. But it has so be -SOMETHING-.
