A rather exhilarating bus journey getting from our nasty Peckham accommodation. The crazy driver of our bus made some poor woman fall over and bang her head. He was taking bends and corners without sufficiently braking - and when I shouted to him to slow down, he did the flippin opposite!
All the logistical potholes were somehow avoided and there we were in a big place, in Brixton, listening to Cardiacs one more time
Genning up on the new Cardiacs tunes, ahead of tomorrow’s London gig!
Frantically searching viable logistics for a dash into London. And then home for an intriguing talk
Messing around in my shed
Featuring Thought Bubble among the many notables: majorarcanamedia.substack.com/p/head-in-th...
It’s finished.
Finishing touches… #abstract #gesso
My poster, now slightly updated, for the first spacerock musical weekender of the Summer, I’m planning on attending.
A track from the new Thought Bubble album features on the cover-mount CD with the next edition of Means magazine
From the new Thought Bubble album, here’s the opening track: youtu.be/3TNFIlDw5ic?...
I spent a few hours of today bimbling around #chorley town centre, while awaiting an urgent brake calliper and pads replacement. Not a cheap day. Still, the garage got it done at short notice. Here’s some nice peeling paint I found on my circuit
A bit late, but a review of the Thought Bubble EP we released before Zmas has just appeared. It’s actually turned out to be a particularly pleasant surprise! lazland.org/album-review...
Homunculus?
Summer’s on its way
Fifty years ago today, my musical adventures started, in #birminghamtownhall #marcbolanandtrex hit the stage with an adrenaline (or something) fuelled version of #20thcenturyboy I was utterly blown away and never came back #livemusic #glamrock
Raw, live music by local band Crystal Ball, Prague based Ginger Wizard and Leeds’ Self Immolation. Proper in-yer-face stuff. Surprisingly, there was a clear progrock aptitude to the headliners, albeit with grunge attitude. Hats off to One Hand Clapping for making this marvellous kinda thing happen
It’s looking like the lineup may have evolved a tad since that poster was slapped up around town.
This evening’s plans…
This metre square painting is still very much a work in progress. Despite using heavy body acrylic paint, the white is needing multiple coats, but with very straight edges. It’s proving exhausting.
Taking advantage of a break in the rains, I scrambled up some steep paths and rocks, above Batch Valley, eventually winding up on Church Stretton golf course.
No rain, so an afternoon saunter #batchvalley #longmynd #shropshirehills
Like many sheds, mine does have a collection of painted skulls, several showroom mannequins, a drum kit and about a hundred canvases
In the South wing of the shed, today. There’s a very slow moving abstract piece that’s demanding a steady hand
Wolverhampton today. Good friends. Good conversation, a comedy show: Clementine at the Arena (a solo tour de force by Rosalie Minnit), top nosh at Dosa Hut and a gallery full of awesome art
Crash course capitalism
A new Thought Bubble album is appearing on the Moolakii Club Audio Interface label tomorrow. It’s not officially released til later March, but presales go live on Bandcamp. Who’s to say?
