ETCH – A quick introduction to document templating After my last post, I thought I'd give a quick intro to what ETCH is and what it allows you to do. In a nutshell, ETCH is a service (i.e. set of REST Endpoints), that let you take some JSON data and a template (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Markdown etc) and it processes the template looking for any tags that it can replace with the JSON data.

Whatever happened to APEX ETCH? Time flies... It's hard to believe that that back it's over 10 years ago (back in late 2014) I had the idea for something called APEX ETCH. So what was APEX ETCH?
