Me and my friends left Wonder Woman in silence, and once we got to the train home just started ripping into how God awful it was. Me knowing a fair amount about the horrors of WWI trench warfare, was especially unkind.

My partner and I just realized we can do an insane double feature movie night where we watch movies starring our dads.

The craziest trick I've recently picked up by the old masters of comics, is using a razorblade to "erase" inking mistakes.

Western comics: "Make sure your gutters are consistent!"

Mangaka: "The larger I make the gutters, the smaller I can make this drawing."

Truly! I love noticing this is comics, and it's usually in books with the most beautiful art (Nausicaä, Witch Hat Atelier, Drifting Dragons). My umbrage comes from measuring out gutters, which is already cheat at by using tape.

Guess what I'm doing right now.

Challenge level: Impossible.

God, actually drawing the panels has to be my least favorite part of drawing comics. I dread inking boxes over any complex composition.

Says the guy who could lose billions if they don't.

Jirass from Ultraman

Not the same universe, but this is Jirass who was made by attaching the '65 Godzilla suits head to the '64s body, adding a frill and repainting it. Tsuburaya productions made the suits for the Showa Godzilla movies, and later on Ultra Q, so they had a good relationship with Toho to reuse props.
