Mostly walking my dog buddy on Dartmoor. Expect terriers, bleak wilderness, occasional sunny places, and some sea.

Businesses face multi-million GDPR fines for being hacked. I hope a lesson MPs take from underwriting JLR’s Β£1.5 billion loan is that, like any other crime, the burden of defeating hackers must by shared by effective law enforcement. I vote investigate the shit out of every hack then send in the SAS

We must be ready for early election, Nigel Farage tells Reform UK NIgel Farage announces he is setting up a department to prepare for government at the Reform conference.

I’m sure that when Nigel Farage buys big roll, the BBC will duly report it. There is nothing newsworthy about this: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

New acquaintances start on my scorecard at a 7. Some then gain rank as I get to know them, but most go down. It make me wonder whether 7 is a naive starting score. (Intolerance ironically triggers a permanent deduction. It is not possible to be an intolerant 10)

The Deadly Italian Alps: Almost 90 Fatalities So Far This Summer Β» Explorersweb The Italian media are calling it a hecatombe -- massacre. An average of three deaths every day have taken place in the Italian Alps so far this summer.

I had persuaded myself that I would conquer vertigo to go hiking in the Italian Dolomites… and then I read this. Other than being British, I’m slap bang in the danger demographic. explorersweb.com/the-deadly-i...

Britain can’t lawfully recognise Palestine as a state because of the Montevideo Convention? Since when was the UK bound by an agreement made between the US and 16 Central and South American states?

American democracy is broken. It should not be possible for the USA to switch sides, disown its contracts, and destroy 80 years of trust on the whim of one orange man.

Is it possible and necessary to hold elections during war? We explain using the examples of the USA, Great Britain, Canada and Israel In Ukraine, it is forbidden to hold elections during the war, so the parliament and the president continue to work. Other democratic countries have faced this before. And this is how they got out of t...

History is difficult.

Fox News reports R Sen. Josh Hawley, "We held elections during World War II. Britain held elections during World War II. If they're (Ukraine) a democracy, they should hold elections. I don't think that's difficult"

No, Britain didn’t. babel.ua/en/amp/texts...

Labour will leave no stone unturned in its determination to deliver economic growth for the UK… except the big one labelled EU customs union. When Parliament, in 2019, was asked, the majority for leaving the customs union was 0.3%. Could that have changed, now the impact is real? #Brexit #clueless

Archaeologist Discovers Two Neolithic Stone Circles in England, Supporting a 'Sacred Arc' Theory The idea suggests prehistoric people built a ring of stone circles in modern-day Dartmoor National Park around the same time that Stonehenge was createdβ€”and the new finds have just added another piece...

Ha! I contributed to this archaeological discovery by strimming the shit out of the bracken that was covering the Irishman’s Wall site. You see how they’re digging in manicured lawn? That was me and Steve! www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/a...
