The cost is far greater than dollars. Lives lost or permanent disfigurement or disability. Morals destroyed. Alliances & pacts broken. Trust, safety, goodwill squandered. Stability & community cooperation unhinged. Confidence in media, systems of information & institutions gone. In one year.

He’s weirdly vociferous about this. The US culture has sold the notion that generational wealth comes from owning property, starting a business, or smart investing. The majority of people used to think that homeownership was the most safe & attainable means to create wealth, & to trust institutions.
My husband is a drummer. It’s pretty cool. I was an alto saxophonist. We have a mixed marriage. 😆 That saxophone was super heavy to pack to school for an 11 year old. I put it on the ground in its case and me and my sister took turns kicking it down the street.

Some may. I grew up in a cult. The sunk costs really keep them from giving up believing. People have betrayed their moral compass to stay in & having to acknowledging that is pretty ego shattering. Most people won’t do it.
