It's also possible Morgan's chat may be a subs only mode chat, which means only those with a subscription can talk in chat. Subs only mode chat might not be turned on. It's up to Morgan and her mods!

Yeah! You won't need a Discord for Twitch at all. In general it's fairly safe. Most communities have in chat mods who can delete messages or ban people if needed. I don't think you need an account to watch, but you will if you wanna participate in chat, I think!

This is how you add a reaction emoji to the bottom of someone's comment. Your most used emojis are there for easy use. Simply click add reaction and that will take you to the emoji list. From there select the emoji you want to use to react with.

The emoji in the red box is a reaction to this comment/post. The little happy face in the green box is where you can easily add more reaction emojis after someone has posted an initial reaction. You can click on the reaction (red box) and your username will be added to a "react" list. You won't get notifs for being added to the react list or anything. It's just nice to see who is reacting along to your post or comment.

Oh-! One last thing about emojis, you can "react" to a comment or post. Hover over the comment, then select the three dots in the corner of a comment. It'll open a menu and you can go to the react menu. This will open an emoji menu. Select one, then it'll appear below the comment.

I think for the most part those are all the basics that you need to know in order to get started with discord for most things-or at least being able to interact with a server.

I really hope this was helpful and makes discord less intimidating! Please keep sharing this so it helps more people out!

Search bar and search bar options to better help you look for a comment, gif, conversation, etc...

Here, I'm searching for the comment "good morning." The search bar brings up all the comments that have been made in the server with the term "good morning." You can order it by newest, oldest, or relevant

Finally, we have our search bar. This is where you can search the channel for specific conversations. The search bar will immediately pop up suggestions in order to better search for usernames, mentions, from users, etc...You don't have to fill out everything, these are just suggestions.

Show/hide the list of people in your server.

Next, the people button lets you show or hide the list of people who are in the discord server with you. It's very straightforward. I don't want to dox my community, but you can try it out for yourself!

This is the message you'll see when something gets pinned to the channel.

When you open the pinned section, you'll see the newly pinned message at the top, as well as a list of other previously pinned messages you can scroll through.

If you hover over a pinned message you'll see a small "jump" indicator. You can click that to jump to whenever the message was posted, or you can choose to just preview it in the pinned messages window you get when you click the pin icon.

Next we have the pin. Opening up the pin will give you all the pinned messages that are in a discord channel. Pins basically highlight important messages so they don't get lost in conversation. If something is pinned, Discord will notify the text channel. More in the Alt text!

This is the notifications bell. Again, you can alter your notification settings for that individual channel here too.

You'll see the same options that we've talked about before in the previous thread. You can mute the channel etc...

Next is the notification bell. This is another easy way to access notification settings for that INDIVIDUAL channel! You'll see the same stuff we've seen when dealing with notification settings like in our previous thread.

Threads are a bit more complex to grasp, so don't worry if you don't get it right away. Most of the time, most conversations generally happen in the regular text channels anyways, but this is good info to know just in case you encounter one!

Do you see how there's a thread spool that breaks out of the conversation? This allows for people to stay within a topic, but lets you get more specific with things. It's sort of a little more privatized text channel. However, do keep in mind that it is still public, but the only people who get messages are the people who are talking within that thread.

Clicking on the thread button will give you a list of all the active threads in that channel. You can create a new thread by hitting the create button--IF the server owner allows you to do so.

Clicking on the Number of messages link (green box), opens up the thread (red box). This is where you can continue having a discussion on that topic without disturbing the main channel (in this case the Big Brother channel).

Let's start off with the thread. You can break out discussions into Discord threads. Let's say you're in a BB text channel and you want to talk about an individual non-current season.
