Rogue One investigates glowing ammonite.
David Inshaw’s fantastically detailed rendering of an equally fantastically smart allotment is a joy to behold. This painting has been known to provoke feelings of allotment envy. Painted in the long, hot summer of 1987.

Some very moody light from December 2024.
Very good.
The three ages of British nerd are 'that Top of the Pops set dressing has been in Doctor Who', 'on a rewatch, The Tomorrow People is shite', and 'oh God, I'm older than Richard Vernon was when he played Slartibartfast, which tbf is younger than you'd think'.

Sleep tight.
A late boomer?
The Kingswear Daymark - built in the 1860s as a navigation aid to shipping. The designer - Charles Seale Hayne - seemed to have a thing for the number 8 - it's octagonal, and 80 foot tall.
Good evening.
The woods around here are remarkable. Not an easy place to leave behind I imagine.
Yep.
Also brought Klimt's ‘Malcesine on Lake Garda’ to mind.
A little closer to the water.
#fullmoon.
Moon's up.
Ah yes, that bountiful February harvest. . .
Good lord! What abundance.
G'morning.
Appreciated.
After spending an evening with Graham Greene, I shall turn in with Jeremy Lewis.
Well done and good luck - you're doing a grand job.
A classic, nonetheless.
Thanks for the recommendation Nicola - I shall track down a copy. Got Michael Powell's autobiography for Christmas - looking forward to reading that too.
Quintessential urban lane aesthetic
Oh this should be a tea trowel.
The moors near Taunton yesterday held more water than I'd seen in years, Anna.
Beetles and bees today. And the dunnocks were singing away like stand-in skylarks.
