Witkoff saying that the overwhelming majority in the four Ukrainian regions (Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk) voted to be part of Russia is preposterous. The 2022 referendums were sham. The majority in Zaporizhzhia live in areas under Ukrainian rule where there was no referendum at all.

Don't remember much about Hillbilly Elegy (J.D. Vance's 2016 book) but I knew there was a parable about the importance of standing up to bullies in there. I'm sure he meant it at the time.
