As we said in our all will rise team statement: we refuse the idea that commercial success is worth the price of our consciences. we hope that Microsoft will reconsider its participation in enabling Israeli genocide. If enough of us boycott, we hope we can be a tipping point for real change.

Finally got around to play (and finish) VIDEOVERSE by @kinmoku.bsky.social and what a special thing it was.
It brought me back to a time of far away friends, crushes who ignored me, online fights, over nothing with nights spent awake.

1. What Mike says is 100% correct. This gives no idea of how viable Steam is as a launch platform for games in 2026 - despite remaining the best launch platform available.
2. $100K+ is going to be "success" in very limited contexts - a solo developer, or a small team outside of expensive areas.

I can guarantee you Muslims are as diverse voting as any other demographic, but in this case the Western European Right wants to exterminate us and the Left wants to only exterminate some of us. I don't really understand how the Racists can be surprised that people vote to not be exterminated.

But hang on... it says "5,863 games". It does *not* say, "5,863 games that launched in 2025".
So what it's actually saying, is that of the nearly 150,000 games available on Steam, 5,863 of them (4% of them) made $100k in revenue in 2025.

this year at gdc, the yerba buena gardens, a space where developers have congregated during the event for well over a decade, has been taken over by the conference and spends part of the day fenced off. developers are upset not just about the clunkiness of it all, but what it represents
