This is how I remember it - the kid on the bike in the centre of the pic could easily have been me.

Used to be great in the 70s riding our bikes around the tracks that ran through the playground. Looking at it on Google Earth recently it seems to have been “tamed” a bit, though.

Grrrr. I saw the release date was the same year as Songs From Northern Britain, and wondered if there was a recently remastered version of the CD that they'd stuck Broken on, but apparently not.

A hospital ward arrayed with flags of a variety of flags of a host of nations, including Belgium, India, France, Ireland, Spain and Jamaica.

Some time ago I visited a relative in hospital & saw these flags on view. I wondered why they were there, before realising they were the nationalities of the nurses on the ward. Perhaps Mr Lowe can explain how on earth my - or anyone else's - relatives would get any healthcare if he had his way.

Took me years before I realised that "Covies" was short for "Covenanters". No idea if they still exist, going to google them now and I'm guessing there's a fair old chance that it's now some kind of cult or something.

The local non-conformist church used to run one on Friday evenings. Plus Scouts was a youth club, of sorts, I guess.
