Yep - substitute β€œblack people” or β€œMuslims” or β€œgay people” for β€œtrans people” and the bigoted mask falls.

Thanks. I looked for some pics online but it seems to have been landscaped since those days, and much of the character of the place sanitised with it.

This is how I remember it - the kid on the bike in the centre of the pic could easily have been me.

Used to be great in the 70s riding our bikes around the tracks that ran through the playground. Looking at it on Google Earth recently it seems to have been β€œtamed” a bit, though.

I lived in Maghull up until 1983. Weird to think of forests and deer.

You just know his nickname will be β€œDibbo” and for that reason alone, I’m out.

I’d be fine with that.

As I've posted elsewhere, though, what the figures suggest is that in most cases, the majority of respondents said "Neither".

Looking at those figures, though, it would suggest that in most cases "Neither" was the predominant answer.

Yep - ta - will have to find a way to upload a YouTube track onto my iPod. Cort Jr did that for me a while back with another rarity, so I believe it is possible.

Grrrr. I saw the release date was the same year as Songs From Northern Britain, and wondered if there was a recently remastered version of the CD that they'd stuck Broken on, but apparently not.

@stabiloffc.bsky.social Is that 'Broken' track by Teenage Fanclub available on CD anywhere? Seem to remember it only being a B side, have had a quick look but can't find it. Thanks.

I've been doing FF since it was a paper submission game back in 1993, and have never - never - included any the players from our friends across the park.

I simply can't imagine watching the scores come in of a weekend and thinking "Ooh! Salah's bagged a brace! Get in!"

Some time ago I visited a relative in hospital & saw these flags on view. I wondered why they were there, before realising they were the nationalities of the nurses on the ward. Perhaps Mr Lowe can explain how on earth my - or anyone else's - relatives would get any healthcare if he had his way.

Hard to find anything at all, other than this webpage from Feb 2000. Spoiler alert: no cult.

Took me years before I realised that "Covies" was short for "Covenanters". No idea if they still exist, going to google them now and I'm guessing there's a fair old chance that it's now some kind of cult or something.

The local non-conformist church used to run one on Friday evenings. Plus Scouts was a youth club, of sorts, I guess.
