Problem is, most people affected are too ill to do such a survey.

▪︎ Making stuff up/exaggerating for attention or sympathy (or to get disability benefit)
▪︎ Being pathetic or a snowflake, no worse than anyone else but just making a fuss
▪︎ Lying to get strong pain meds (for addiction or misuse)
We need a study doing into how often ppl who have a mh diagnosis on their files are not believed about their symptoms, in particular pain.
It isn't just me. I've heard this from other people too.
My thoughts are that it is linked to the societal prejudices about mh & other disabilities where
Trans healthcare needs to be led by trans people, to be accountable to trans communities and trans youth.
Folks who don't believe in the existence of a trans child cannot continue to hold the reins of healthcare policy and governance.
This is where we start.
