But if the President can raise taxes because an advert annoyed him, without even consulting Congress, then the US constitution is simply not functioning as intended.

I feel like im being gaslit by everyone's framing of this because it really doesnt look like theres a neat dividing line between Establishment Dems and Progressives on this issue.

I've seen progressives going hard criticizing Platner and I've seen Establishment Dems defending him too.

I don't understand how anyone can make the case that we still have constitutional government at this point. The president is collecting revenue *AND* spending money without Congressional authorization, refusing to spend money that Congress appropriated, disobeying whatever laws he feels like.

This is a deeply cynical gambit intended to polarize the parties between one that thinks "fighting antisemitism" means destroying university campuses, and another that dismisses all allegations of antisemitism as just a right-wing wedge issue. Ultimately, American Jews will suffer.

We hear a lot about how anti-Israel views are being unfairly designated as antisemitism to render them out of bounds, but this is an example of the opposite - falsely labeling actual antisemitism (a Nazi symbol) as "anti-Israel" to normalize it among Democrats.
