This historic snowfall will surely cause the roof of the Ontario Science Centre to collapse, right? Seeing as how it was already at “critical risk” of collapse before? Right?

I personally like the repeated irrelevant mentions of being ex-military.

I reached out to Jason Allen, author of 52 Things to Do in Hamilton: The Insider’s Guide to Fun in the Hammer ( @wolsakandwynn.bsky.social, 2025) to ask him about his book & his experience travel writing the hyper local.

The audacity of via to think a refund and trip voucher makes up for this.

A black granite memorial plaque features a circular arrangement of names in white text, bordered by silver rivets. At the top center is an emblem of a bee with gears. The text reads "in memoriam" followed by two columns of names: Geneviève Bergeron, Hélène Colgan, Nathalie Croteau, Barbara Daigneault, Anne-Marie Edward, Maud Haviernick, Maryse Laganière, Maryse Leclair, Anne-Marie Lemay, Sonia Pelletier, Michèle Richard, Annie St-Arneault, Annie Turcotte, Barbara Klucznik Widajewicz. At the bottom: "6 DÉCEMBRE 1989".

On this day in 1989, an armed gunman murdered 14 women at École Polytechnique de Montréal. Another ten women and four men were injured.
The anniversary of the massacre is commemorated annually on Dec. 6 as the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.

large intersection with painted crosswalks

A crossing guard was killed by the driver of a dump truck yesterday. absolutely heartbreaking.
Look at our intersections, look how hostile these are for people/children - this is what we continue to build and defend at all costs. These aren't accidents, these are results. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Due to a series of mishaps this morning I had to eat Brussels sprouts on a GO platform this morning and I felt like the worst person on earth. Good to know someone topped me this AM.

This press release was baffling. Does the city think we’re stupid? This is not a good news story for them or us citizens.

Doug Ford Moves to End Rent Control Doug Ford announced proposed changes to the LTB that would strip away key tenant protections, fast-track evictions, and open the door to ending rent control as we know it in Ontario.

If you're a renter in Ontario, you should know Doug Ford is trying to make it easier for your landlord to raise your rent or end your tenancy. #HamOnt #OnPoli

I’ll bring the popcorn for the demo party. We could make it a neighborhood block party.

We’ve got to start a parks booking page for our new public pavilion. This belongs to the taxpayers not this clown.

'Horrible piece of legislation': Ontario parents to rally against speed camera ban TORONTO — Several parent groups against a looming speed camera ban in Ontario are holding a provincial day of action on Monday as MPPs return to Queen's Park for the beginning of a new legislative ses...

"As the father of a toddler, DeVito's biggest fear is unsafe roads. He knows firsthand how rambunctious young children can be and can see their lack of situational awareness at times. It also doesn't help that car crashes are one of the leading cause of death in children in Canada."

Vehicles registered to Ford cabinet ministers caught by speed cameras more than 20 times | Globalnews.ca Documents obtained by Global News reveal that, over three years, vehicles registered to Ford’s cabinet minister received more than $3,300 in fines for speeding.

To be fair, who among us hasn't been caught doing 70 in a 40 when we were running a little late for a ribbon cutting at a new private healthcare clinic or to pick up a bag of donations from real estate developers?

I'd like to suggest that "the worst part" is that people are speeding in school zones and putting kids and others at risk, not that they are getting caught for doing so.

I usually go 30 minutes before the opener but I’m old and don’t like to sit too long. I may be listening to the first few songs while making my way to my seat but that’s ok with me!

How a judge could see evidence of that text “ We’ve got to get our stories straight” and not conclude nefariousness, I can’t even! 🤦‍♂️🤨

FYI - it's been several HOURS and the judge is still reading her decision in the Hockey Canada trial.

Hollywood has people thinking a judge just stands up and says guilty or acquitted and they move on. Nope. Victims have to listen to hours of a judge smearing them in front of a packed courtroom.

Children don't vote, but they are being thrown under a metaphorical F350 through the politicization of a mode of transport that is most accessible to them for independent mobility. The violation of #ChildRights inherent in Houston's statement should concern us all #CarBrain #ZeroVisionHFX

If you follow our city council at all you’d see that funding transit is never prioritized. At least with tracks in the ground it’ll be harder to rip out in the name of budget savings like the original priority lanes down king.
