a cartoon character is holding a glowing object in its hands . ALT: a cartoon character is holding a glowing object in its hands .

I do have 2 mouse NPC's called "Sabo" and "Tage" for this.

They're based on the mouse from Valiant in the French resistance who runs around with matches trying to blow things up.

The player isn't on bluesky however!

The Piper - an underground "theives guild/resistance" made up of small animals such as rats and pigeons. Often overlooked, they have been able to ferry messages and small objects across resistance cells without getting caught. They are led by The Piper, who controls the creatures like the Pied Piper

Thank you - I'm basing it on in game learning so feels like it is very hard at first and then becomes very easy as you level up. Just trying to strike the right balance

#TTRPG Folk, do you prefer games that are hard but easy to level up characters, or easy and hard to level up?

Just heard my Boss is taking Catch the Chicken to his gaming weekend!

Either high praise or high pressure for it to be fun - I'm not sure which yet

Hmm, the new series of Bridgerton is just cinderella... doesn't even seem to be trying to hide it...

And resolved! Luckily found a work around that didn't require me to pull the core mechanics apart again

Why have I just realised that in the TTRPG I'm working on, I've done everythign for combat except decide on how to actually make an attack...

Fab - I'm thinking 4 familiar races, 2 unique, and instructions for homebrew.

After that there may be more races to come out as the adventures are released as I've got quite a few ideas for it

Good point, so out of that selection would it be best to have the traditional races (elves/dwarves/human) with a few unique ones?

Great to know - I've got instructions on how to make them, just got into a rabbit hole for making new ones and suddenly realised I may be making too many!

#TTRPG Folk, in a TTRPG do you like a lot of variety in races that you can play, or just a handful of races and the ability to create your own?

#TTRPG Folk, do you want a quick and simple game for DnD?

Roll up a character and try one of my Battle Royale's!

Simple rules for #DnD5e and 2024 rules, with maps included!

Here's a bundle of 3 variants (Normal, Large groups, or Druids only!):

Me too, but then there wouldn't have been a campaign ;)

Best would be Tir an Airn - forests, lakes, and mountains. A peaceful region where the waters are bless by Angel's tears and the Pheonix reigns.

Worst is Ailartsua - everything will kill you! Once a temple, now home to a beast caught between 3 planes of existance - it's angry!

To "blow my own trumpet" a bit, it has to be Gone Fishin'!

It was designed as a downtime adventure for DnD and can be done as a soloplay game. Beauty of it was that you can compete against friends or just play on your own trying to catch the best fish in each of the locations

#ttrpg folk, I think I have a way to create custom mixed races for my new game.

Is this something you'd like realistic restrictions on, or full freedom to go crazy and make some bizarre mixed races (which will probably result in overpowered characters)?

I've been playing Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden.

It's a good game, just a one where the Map is huge and only lets you go one way so you spend 20 mins travelling between story points with nothing but resources to gather. Great story and mechanics, just kills the fun when you have to backtrack...

Ok worldbuilders - how do you decide the shape of the continents on your world?

For me it's what the geography is doing and how the worlds gravity is shaped by the void so all land is being drawn towards it

There's also an undead cleric who is overly serious but died when he was beheaded. His head is now only attached by a chain and falls off when he turns too quickly...

We often ended up in situations with his head falling off at very inappropriate times...

Probably the intro to the Paladin's Curse Campaign. 0-20 campaign which is very serious universe ending stuff but spends the first session with an undead orc paladin his pet dog who is also undead and can't move because he can't digest all the treats he's getting because "Look at his little face!"

So we have earned our classes! I unlocked Fighter, Rogue and Barbarian but went with Fighter because the others were more interested in magic characters and we needed a tank. Still need to unlock our background and looking forward to the next layer!

I'm looking forward to it! Essentially the story decides the roles you need to fill - should be good fun!

DnD tonight and we're trying something different!

Starting only with a race and standard array of stats, we're going to discover our classes as we progress and develop the characters rather than choosing them. Should be interesting!

I think I have it! Core mechanic and progression worked out! Now just to write it up and create some races and backgrounds. Hopefully this means in the next few weeks I'll finally have that second draft ready for alpha testing :)

#TTRPG Folk, when using stats in games, do you prefer broken down stats or an overview statistic?

i.e. in DnD5e, instead of having sleight of hand, you'd just roll a Dexterity check if it was just an overview statistic
