What I find fun in Japanese is the three sets used together.
Sure you have to learn:
Hiragana
Katakana
Kanji

But if you get used to these three it’s actually pretty easy to read, because you’ll know from just looking at it most of the time which is a verb, noun etc. Also it flows together imo.

Managed to play some 3DS games in Japanese this year, well mostly Kanken Training and passed 8-kyuu. And I managed to pass N4 this year despite knowing more Japanese imo.

As for next year… well N3 def but idk…

It's good that they do, but I hope they're left to explore it on their own terms. Some people can be really frickin' weird about how younger people 'should' interact with retro tech. And with some of it, hacked consoles and ROMs are the only way of playing games due to the cost of some classics.
