What exactly do you think saying “stop” is going to do. They will not stop. People don’t stop using energy.
Replace it with something better. It’s our only hope. Go nuclear.

I’ll have to go back and find pictures of the first time I met Madi. There was definitely bonding and crying involved. When we both started advocating for nuclear, it was NOT a popular thing to do. Thank goodness for these other strong amazing women in our movement, and more joining all the time! ♥️⚛️

Listen on your way to work! Perhaps at a nuclear power plant…. 🤩⚛️
These actions are importantly for our clean energy future.
I know many people may be disappointed at cutbacks to renewables. My advice: REDIRECT!!
Fossil to nuclear transition is a win win!! 💪🏼♥️🌎🌱
This is apparently one of the things that has been removed from the DOE website recently…

I can see why you might have this perspective. Yet, I also believe that nuclear is absolutely our best hope for a clean energy future, so we better figure out how to make this happen.
Sometimes bills are just a signal.

05.05.2025 16:00 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0It’s a funny joke in nuclear, but it’s really true. Everything has a cost and a benefit, and we have to get good at looking at the things that really matter.
A little bit of tritium? Here.
The question is: what is appropriate?
I just learned that there are 21 levels of magnitude between radiation we can detect (the decay of a SINGLE atom) and what’s happening in our reactor at diablo.
That’s insane. Our human minds can’t comprehend large numbers.
And @elizkolbert.bsky.social, I’m honestly impressed. I want to memorize all the facts in these essays- Hoover dam concrete could pave a four foot sidewalk around the equator?! Holy cow. 😇🐮
Want to chat some facts about nuclear?
On L, I was ready to Leapfrog across M and get to N.
N is for Narratives (not nuclear), but this is one word that I’m honestly ok with taking the spots light. This is also why we started @mothersfornuclear.bsky.social and focus on storytelling. Nuclear Narratives need to shift.
Large physical generators, like nuclear & fossil fuel plants conversely help stabilize the grid & can help absorb quick changes while cushion in operation of other equipment. Batteries can also do this.
It seems France probably prevented all of Europe from crashing due to its abundance of nuclear!
Some areas are starting to build in more frequency, stabilization and other grid services into their solar systems, though it’s relatively uncommon. The more solar you have, the more you need it, and the more expensive that makes the system overall.
30.04.2025 19:05 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0Perhaps a bit obtuse, thanks for your patience- if you look closely at the scenery, it is covered with massive seas of black of solar panels, & more under construction.
Solar is typically destabilizing to grid, esp as penetration rises (the percent).
I made it though letter M last night.
I’m Hoping the N is for nuclear….
Edge of my seat….
And oh. Same.
30.04.2025 18:59 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0The alternative is nuclear.
30.04.2025 18:59 — 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0High penetration of renewables *is* hard on grids, regardless of whether this turns out to be “the cause”. And when Spain’s beautiful Central-California-like open spaces are being plowed over with seas of black, we should look again at our choices.
I just visited Spain, & cried for miles.
Over focus on renewables is hard on the grid, and when Spain’s beautiful Central-California-like open spaces are being plowed over with seas of black, we should look again at our choices.

Nuclear gives me hope. Let’s do that.
