Way of the Walker? Don't listen to us, listen to Sam.
Remember, your words weigh far less on the moon than on Earth. They drift. It’s said that love songs gather at the old Apollo landing sites: the dust whispers.
Really pleased to share that not only have I written my first ever non-gruesome short story (it was a fun challenge), but it’ll be broadcast on Friday 27th March as part of BBC Radio 4’s Short Works

Sentient? Don't listen to us, listen to Vinay:
"Sentient is a thrilling, chilling, fast-paced contagion thriller that owes a lot of its uniqueness in this genre to the setting. The coldness of Antarctica, coupled with the icy relentlessness of the Symbiote, makes this a compelling read."
But what if you ARE the goat? Or maybe RJ Dark is the GOAT and that is the source of your anxiety?
Quite apart from the epic achievement of the Gormenghast books, Mervyn Peake's illustrations for a wide variety of books were extraordinary.
But, objectively, this is a GREAT title.
There are too many books. And we say this knowing that we are (gleefully) part of the problem.
Hellsans is out already; published in 2022. Which suggests we should have shouted louder at the time... 🙂
If a dystopia doesn't make you sick is it even a dystopia?
Just two of the reviews for Hellsans by @everdundas.bsky.social
"Political, fearless, smart, badass. To put it down is unthinkable, you care about everything and everyone all the time."
MARIANA ENRIQUEZ
"A dark, brilliantly imagined world...rage, love and sorrow perfectly contained."
JENNI FAGAN
Although obviously none of our comp title pitches would be this off the mark. No, really. Wait, don't go! Hey, come back! You have to believe us!
probably my favorite illustration I did for Scholar's Codex, for the Elden Ring section @tuneandfairweather.bsky.social
"Marika bathed the village of her home in gold,
knowing full well that there was no one to heal."
5x7" ink on claybord
Starship Alexandria is a stellar genre podcast. Emma and Adrian manage the trick of being informed and learned but also welcoming, warm and funny.
Sentient by Michael Nayak? Don't listen to us, listen to C.J.
I set off from the living room sofa, through check-in, baggage, duty free… finally to take flight in the pages of a novel.
"Desolate, dreadful and dark, Sentient is as much contagion horror as sci-fi chiller and as gripping as they come."

If you're a fan of horror, folk horror, folk lore, contemporary fantasy then visiting Hookland will give you chills and joy.
William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy, two years before Star Trek, co-starring in an episode of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (The Project Strigas Affair, S1E9). They’re only in this one scene together.
A great way to catch up with genre book reviews and news you may have missed during the week.
The craft lay on its side in the mud banks, half-submerged, eaten away by rust, its metal hull staved in. Nearby a crooked sign read: VIEW THE FAMOUS SPACESHIP £5 ONLY. The fields were empty for miles around.
Will Wiles' epic fantasy novels? Don't listen to us, listen to Patrick Ness.
New from @willwiles.bsky.social, author of The Last Blade Priest.
Two in the eye of the storm.
Two in touch with the end.
Syzenne. A princess on a doomed mission to a decadent court
Duna. A teenage girl who can break mountains, on the the run with a fanatical priest, from one war to another.
In the age of LLMs, deciding to write more strongly in my own voice feels both liberating and like an act of resistance. I've decided I don't care if Reviewer 2 inevitably hates the style, I'm going to write for me.
NGL, I was a bit disappointed with the FX in Dune part 2.
Shake Out the Ghosts by @al-distortion.bsky.social brings ALL THE VIBES.
PREACH.
Moon Over Brendle? Don't listen to us, listen to Laura.
Here's the link to sign up at Netgalley for a chance to read @jeffnoon.bsky.social's fantastic new novel, Moon Over Brendle.
"A transporting, generous novel, creating much to think on, and richly conjuring hopes and fears. It's an immersive and vivid adventure.”
