This is superb, as ever from @bbcrosatkins.bsky.social who should be in charge of political content in the BBC.
Head and shoulders above all domestic political commentators.
Unemotional fact based unpeeling of bullshit
After four days of hesitating, the president of France has joined the prime minister of Spain in saying that the ๐บ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ฑ attack on Iran is a violation of international law.
But they are still the only 2 EU leaders to have done so. Will others join?
Trump & team throwing toys out of their pram because,
Spain wants no part in their illegal war,
UK wants no part in their illegal war.
The US might want to question their motives in putting the lives of American personnel at risk for their illegal war with no plan and no exit strategy.
Sheโs very weak on the Iran situation and backward thinking on energy.
If there was ever a time for renewables itโs now.

Private Eye: Is the supreme leader dead? Rubio: No, Trump always looks like this. Mission accomplished? Trump: Yes. Iโve killed the Epstein story. What happens next? Trump: Popular revolt and regime change. Rubio: In America? Why have you started this war? Trump: So that I can stop it. Rubio: Iโll ring the Nobel Committee.

I feel like the long awaited Love Actually moment has almost brewed.
I am proud of Keir Starmer for carving out our own foreign policy on Iran that isn't based on lunacy or sociopathic behaviour, especially after Iraq and Afghanistan.
Starmer is the Statesman against Trump, without fail.
What theyโre basically saying is that Starmer and the UK isnโt allowed to operate an even moderately independent foreign policy outside of the United States. That is both ahistoric, wrong and weird for people who constantly tell us how sovereignty is what matters most.

after absolutely eviscerating Kristi Noem and calling for her resignation, Tillis is applauded. He thens threatens to hold up nominees if she doesn't stop stonewalling him. My God.

He has, literally, no shame.
He can talk openly about the lack of planning and foresight and care not how it exposes his idiocy, as he can openly profiteer from his office and care not who knows about his avarice and immorality.
Bernie's new billionaire wealth tax would raise $4.4T from the super-rich over the next decade.
That's more than enough to reverse Trump's Medicaid cuts, raise teacher pay, make childcare affordable, and build millions of affordable homes.
And guess what? The super-rich will still be super rich.
Much as Trump's plan for Iran is to get the Iranians to change their hateful regime,
the Americans can use the 25th to change their hateful regime.
๐จ๐จ This is a symbolically good recognition by Labour of the damage #brexit has done to the UK economy and society. Nonetheless, these statements need to be backed up by more ambitious plans on how to restore the relationship with the EU. /1

Remember this?
โIf you take out Saddam, I guarantee you it will have enormously positive impact in the region"
A million people died, an entire society was destroyed in a War based on a complete lie.
Kemi said yesterday "you don't need international law to know which side you're on", in other words law be damned Trump's our man.
She also complained that PM seems to be bothered by International law.
History taught her 0
We don't know how lucky we are to have sensible, pragmatic thoughtfulness.

I'm glad that Keir Starmer is not kowtowing to Donald Trump's mad demands.
Joining this crazy war with Iran would be an epic mistake.
He's not exactly dealing with Franklin Delano Roosevelt, either.
History will show that Trump unleashed bombs to kill innocent Iranian children.
History will show Starmer said NO to Trump and his illegal war.
I know which man has more integrity
(it isnโt Trump).
Iโm glad we have a PM in Starmer who plays by the law and has the courage to say no to Trump and his illegal war.
The U.K. needs no part in the killing of innocent Iranian children.
Excllent news!
Labour sign ยฃ1bn defence contract for 23 new medium helicopters, to be built in Yeovil.
It will secure 3,300 skilled British jobs and could see ยฃ15bn of international orders placed for helicopters over the next 10 years.
Investment in the UK. Improving our defence. Supporting Jobs!
U.S. military personnel carrying a coffin of a peer out of an aircraft
For Trump, getting American personnel killed in Iran, and other needless deaths in the region, is a small price to pay and a great distraction from the Epstein files that mention him 1M+ times.
Then thereโs Badenoch & Farage who wanted Starmer to send British troops in too.
Almost unbelievable.
Itโs refreshing to hear the considered objectivity of Corbyn.
