Any changes compared to a year ago?
17.11.2025 15:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0THIS IS HUGE! Researchers have just identified a powerful new antibiotic that is 100x STRONGER than existing drugs against deadly superbugs like MRSA and VRE. Hiding in a well-known soil bacterium, pre-methylenomycin C lactone KILLS drug-resistant bacteria WITHOUT triggering resistance.

16.11.2025 19:06 β π 17 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'd like to go back to a time when the country isn't run by the biggest hypocrites in the world being propped up by the biggest hypocrites in journalism and promoted by the biggest hypocrites on social media.
15.11.2025 15:30 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0IMHO the only silver lining here is that the next DOJ can hold all the current criminals accountable without having to worry about appearing political.
15.11.2025 04:30 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The one positive about the DOJ being an instrument of blatant political persecution is that if we ever see a government of law and order again, they should have no problem producing some actual accountability instead of "moving forward together while avoiding the appearance of bipartisanship"
15.11.2025 02:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Finally some good news :)
15.11.2025 02:37 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It's a weird pattern I've seen in the US both in politics, in private and in the workspace: often the magnitude and severity of a response is measured by how much money is thrown at a problem, not by the outcomes. I have no idea where that comes from, but it's not as common elsewhere.
15.11.2025 02:34 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0This is a heist, plain and simple. Just nonstop grift and corruption from this crooked President and his administration.
They're doing nothing to make life more affordable for regular people, but they ARE working overtime to get rich using taxpayer dollars and resources.
I get mad whenever I think about how much money was spent and on what, and how we as a nation avoided doing anything actually useful.
Especially galling if the new H3N2 is as bad as predicted.
Indeed. I canβt even convince our school to have a free CR box in the classroom. Meanwhile, we get one respiratory infection after another :(

14.11.2025 18:07 β π 19539 π 8827 π¬ 1067 π 631Notwithstanding that the shutdown was entirely the responsibility of republicans, let's also see some accountability for the democratic senators who caved for an absolutely meaningless and disgraceful "compromise".
14.11.2025 17:44 β π 8 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Something the US needs to accept too is that without a large-scale correction imposing consequences on a large number of people, the crisis of governance here will continue indefinitely

14.11.2025 14:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Rep. Horsford (D-NV) introduced an amendment that would have redirected $40 BILLION from the Argentina bailout to fund Americansβ ACA subsidies for two years.
Republicans blocked it.
Why do we have money for Argentina while our own people lose their health care? How does this make us great?

Arguably the very real likelihood that charger infrastructure might be impacted by politics makes EVs uniquely less worthwhile in the US compared to Europe or China, even though they are a vastly preferable vehicle option otherwise.
13.11.2025 12:41 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The damage cueing has done to our kid's reading still has me livid. The entire idea of "just look for pictures" when the objective is to eventually get them to read chapter books is just so absurd.

11.11.2025 20:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Some thoughts on the CR/minibus.
1 The Dems negotiating with Rs were not freelancing. They coordinated with Sen Schumer. A few were ready to give in on day one, others worked to maximize appropriations wins.
Those voting for the 'deal' are the ones furthest away from electoral consequences.
That's the thing though: a lot of people thought their enlightened self interest would save everyone. Turns out, they aren't smart enough, and we're seeing the consequences.
10.11.2025 21:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hey, a lot of people are talking about changing affiliation from Democratic to Independent.
Let me tell you why you shouldnβt do that in Colorado.
One of the main ways to get a primary challenge candidate on a ballot is to caucus for your party. You need to be registered as a Dem to caucus.
For those wondering why I posted a thread about this last night, this is why.
There's a LOT of people who seem to think that either a) the entire ACA is ending or b) ALL of the ACA tax credits are expiring. NEITHER IS THE CASE.
Thank you.

09.11.2025 22:26 β π 8 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Regular reminder that Axios stories saying Dems are about to cave are likely sourced from GOP staffers trying to make it happen.
Doesn't mean it definitely won't happen. But it's like those NYT stories that Harvard is considering caving (they haven't). The anonymous source was trying to manifest it.
