09.03.2026 14:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Reminds me of the extremely early days of LLMs. Our group was reorganized, and in our first meeting about a feature that had access to all user data and network connectivity, the VP in charge explained that he had gotten permission to skip mandatory security and privacy reviews.
09.03.2026 14:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0IMHO a strong indication that the entire republican party is owned and operated through blackmail and kompromat. It's a disappointing failure of both internal and external defense against corruption, but here we are.

That said, having kids late in life makes some things ridiculously much easier (and had me wonder how young parents cope). Congrats and a virtual toast.
Also, your wife has excellent taste in caps.
Interesting maybe to US Democrats - one of the two majority parties (SPD) looks like they barely scratched 5% following a time of being spectacularly useless as opposition to the other majority party (CDU)

IMHO, if they want all that money for an illegal war, this is a great time to cut all the new funding that was allocated towards DHS.
In all seriousness though, defunding the secret police is probably on of the few remaining ways to save democracy.
Oh my, that shot with the cat at the end made my day. Thank you for sharing! :)
08.03.2026 16:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Spot on. To me, it feels just like having a team of excited juniors. You make remarkable progress over a short time, and then you spend a week firefighting some quite frankly insane code with increasingly well intentioned but completely bonkers suggestions from the crowd.

The Anthropic versus Pentagon conflict is at least three questions which the media skipped asking
1. Should a computer be able to kill people?
2. Whatβs an acceptable error rate for that computer given LLMs 5% hallucination rate?
3. Can the government force you to sell them your tech to kill?
Cirque du Soleil performers dance around a cube lit by projected images.
Just saw Cirque du Soleil's "Echo" in Marymoor park, and it was astounding. I thought I had seen my share of shows, but this one defied every expectation and continuously subverted expectations in the best possible way. Outstanding performance.

If anything, the last decade is a devastating demonstration that our systems are remarkably incapable of achieving accountability and justice, for all the effort put in.
Left me surprised that authoritarians even bother pretending and hiding.
That said, it does nothing to address the other problem we suffered, being mired in corporate power politics.

Historically, the groups I worked in never had enough competent people to tackle their problems, mostly because we simply couldnβt hire up to what weβd really need.
In the context, AI as a productivity multiplier for experienced folks might do boatloads of good.

Congrats to everyone who voted for Trump and a Republican Congress "for the economy." This is what you get, a sputtering job creation engine that can't make progress like before and keeps rolling backwards.

Lol. No better feeling.
Although still I harbor a lot of anger towards people who cancel an 8am in office meeting at 7:45.
Arguably, the logical next step is to ask "who is going to enforce any of this"?

Sobering thought of the day: the people who decided now was the time are perfectly comfortable with this, and they arenβt the sort to give up power easily.
