funnily enough i love the idea that godwyn willingly became a sacrificial lamb, not purely for her goals but so the both of them could be free from their perceived destinies. so in a way both ranni and miquella require the "death" of a brother (ty very much too!)

i never really saw her ending as if she took the mantle of the ruler of the new age. if she did she would have simply followed in rennala's footsteps and made herself a queen. her breaking the cycle is more of a cosmic ego death, while the frenzied flame breaks it through absolute destruction.

the parallels between miquella and ranni make me insane; both carving out pieces of themselves, shedding whatever sense of self they had in order to fulfill their goals yet one ends up merely repeating the cycle while the other breaks it

ahh thank you for further insight! it's why old maps of the sea are my favourite to look at, there's something about the imagery of a giant serpent and/or dragon at the corner of the world
