Let's turn the Seattle city-owned "Jackson" Park 18-hole golf course into a free public green space! Let’s also house all our friends & neighbors, and take care of the salmon, beavers, orcas, & all animals who share our water. Learn more at jp4all.org.

I came of age in Seattle during a time of social change. Civil rights, women’s rights, the anti-war and environmental movements all came about because people like me fought for a world that was more just, more peaceful and more green. Having just celebrated the birthday of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., I am reminded that housing is also a social
justice issue. Many of our neighborhoods in Seattle were developed with restrictive covenants in place that prohibited sales to nonwhite residents. These were followed by redlining restrictions. Our neighborhoods were shaped by these hateful policies, and it is time we fixed that through allowing more housing and more types of housing in our neighborhoods.
The less restrictive zoning policies that are proposed in the One Seattle Plan are an important step toward redressing this shameful part of our history. Marcia Peterson, Seattle

We just really believe more people should be able to live in our wonderful neighborhood, and that our neighborhood would benefit from more neighbors (for example - to help support our precious small businesses!)
