I’m not sure that’s how depression works haha 😂 but again I appreciate the inspirational message for those of us who are crazy enough to stick around!

I agree with the arguments but fear that constant stress has devastated many scientists’ motivation to do the basics. I see some anxious scientists being activated by this context, but I see many more simply shutting down, too depressed to function at the level needed to meet the moment. 💔

Happening now! Follow along for highlights ✨ For today's #WHSS, @clearlab.bsky.social will be discussing dimensional affective sensitivity to #hormones across the #menstrualcycle 🔍

Why are some people hormone sensitive and others not? There are cultural stereotypes… that are imp to acknowledge. You need repeated measures and DAILY analyses to diagnose PMDD (~5.5%) or PME -

We need to understand this disorder better & not assume that all conditions need to be met. There are many different cutoffs. @clearlab.bsky.social made CPASS to help. DSM5 excludes subthreshold cyclicity. Or with PME & this is an issue for understanding the disorder.

DSM5 ignores unique trajectories. Unique trajectories are imp to understand for treatment options ++ @clearlab.bsky.social also if people arent careful this variability will be missed and

Fantastic phase aligned cycle scaling available for researchers interested. PACTS. Menstrual cycles and hormone levels can be quite different and this method helps. Sucidality idealisation also follows cyclicity @clearlab.bsky.social

I shared early insights into subjective #stress trajectories over the #menstrualcycle from the first 26 participants and how they relate to affective symptom changes (very preliminary; data collection ongoing). 📈

To be clear, this is a new product that Novavax is trying to introduce to the market with a study of a different product from 2021. New products require new clinical studies.

Under this administration, we are prioritizing the Gold Standard of Science--not what saves pharma companies "tens of millions of dollars."

Headline: "FDA Asks Vaccine Maker to Complete New Clinical Trial for Delayed Covid-19 shot"

Again, they're trying to take away our vaccines.

From the head of the FDA, a gross misrepresentation of the annual process of updating a proven vaccine to target new disease strains.

His plan would make it impossible to get seasonal flu and Covid shots, and of course he knows this.

I’d guess most taxpayers are unaware how much they’ve already invested in creating the scientific workforce, which is now being thrown away.

Maybe $500,000 per scientist?

Talk about waste.
