Today, CRI stood in vehement opposition to Trump’s illegal war with Iran. Call your congressperson and demand they vote YES on the War Powers resolution (H.Con.Reg38)!

@maddow.bsky.social Thanks for mention tonight but you missed ...They have not made any public statement. We'd ❤️ to see trusted local business lead by a public statement of cancelled contract to stand with our values in this community where Holman started their business. @crindivisible.bsky.social

South Jersey guy becomes the face of ICE resistance | Will Bunch Newsletter Last Friday, Joseph Zobel, “an average Joe who grew up in Haddon Heights” saw a video that shocked him. First interview with the ICE protester whose viral video reaction has been seen 3 million times.

Thank you @willbunch.bsky.social and @inquirer.com for this story on the protest last Friday in Lindenwold, NJ. This helps clear up some misconceptions about this guy and how the protest came to happen.

This is funny. People are making soooo many assumptions about this guy. He said he had never attended a protest before, not that he’s been living in a cave. We know him. He’s a well-loved member of our community!

That’s a great way of putting it. I have a feeling we will be quoting you in some upcoming organizer meetings.

You can imagine the variety of comments that have been circulating around this video, but if you strip away the assumptions, the tropes, and even the spot on analyses about his being white, having a voice, privilege, etc. he is just one tiny example of the bigger project to get people out. Anyone.

This man, who actually happens to be well-loved in the community (public school employee, coach), showed up because he realized he can’t stay silent. He was in tears before this interview, as he was just walking around, overwhelmed by what was happening and his experience of it.

Our org has been doing outreach/KYR training there for months, and this protest was initiated by a 22 y/o woman who had seen enough and took her first step into activism. The turnout to this event was amazing. Simply the most diverse event we’ve supported or led in 8 years of tireless work.

Thanks for reposting. While it is great this video has gone viral (relative to most of our posts) it’s a shame that the full context of the event is lost. This was a protest in a very divided, diverse town of about 20k. ICE has been terrorizing the community for months, a constant presence.

Really appreciate your essay, Ira.R. Thank you. Your thesis and intervention, even if incomplete, deserves a lot more attention.

This is the most viral post we’ve made in 8 years of existence, and it would have been nice to get the full impact of being shared by Tennessee Holler.

We will weigh in as the original posters, and as the org whose media team recorded the original interview — it is odd that TH didn’t simply share our post. While we are glad the video has received more reach, our volunteers work really hard to get content from our events and manage our pages.

Meet Ms. Tatiana, from Lindenwold, New Jersey. She had enough of ICE terrorizing her community and planned her first protest. We offered our assistance, and it was the single most diverse turnout we’ve seen in 8 years of this work!

diverse protest this org has led in 8 years of existence, in a town that is dealing a constant ICE presence, is a win. All that said, we also completely understand any individual not wanting to hear a white dude speak. The reality of that is part of the work.

Your comment is completely understandable. To add some context, this interview occurred at a protest that occurred after months of ICE terrorizing this very divided town of about 20k, and after months of outreach to help people defend themselves. This neighbor showing up, at what was single most
