Another perfect Chilean summer day—clear skies and costal flying all the way. Small rural strip meant another go-around and a wobbly landing. Kept the peanuts firmly on my side of the cockpit.

Clear skies with a solid tailwind, but the turbulence was wild. Barry demolished the peanut stash—resupply needed ASAP.

Pre-sunrise takeoff in still air. Smooth flying with coastal fog, though the rudder got a workout. Landed clean and stayed on the runway.

Bazza's back! Fluffy clouds, moody a times. First landing attempt was too fast, second had a crosswind that put me off the runway. Rough landing, but we walked away—so it counts, right?

Early start, great lighting over snow, forests, and islands. Low clouds hid mountain peaks—had some close calls. Came in too hot for landing, needed a go-around. From now own, I'm calling Chile "The Canada of the South".

Decided on over instead of around. "Foothills" of the Andes my arse. Full throttle most of the way just to dodge those peaks. Fog didn’t help either. Landing was tight, had to do a go-around. Bazza took the easy way—flew commercial.

Finding the same - I have turbulence set to medium, but I'm bounded around in what should be relatively still air. Going to be wild as I get closer to the equator at this rate.

Just an un-announced light aircraft without a registered flight plan and a stack of anonymous boxes flying over South America, nothing to see here, move along ;)

Barry’s back in action as we hopped from Chile to Argentina. Wasn't expecting the landscape to look so much like Africa—felt oddly like coming home. Cruising high, clear skies, barely a bump in sight. Tail number randomly changed tho. Spooky.

No Barry today, dude was pissing me off. Swapped out the weight and floats for speed, and picked up a 10 MPH boost. Hit 10,000 ft, then trimmed for a slow descent over 100 miles of perfect Southern Hemisphere summer. Found a volcano too.

Headwinds, storms & mountains. Occasionally getting a bit lost trying my luck at dead reckoning. Learned a lot since then though - maybe time to ditch the floats.

I carry a jetski and a jerry can wherever I go, you know, just in case. 😀

Saved me redoing a bunch of legs last time, mostly running out of fuel in very isolated parts of Africa. Water landings don't count as a crash!

Smooth and simple. Started with some snow-dusted peaks, then a cruise over the plains before a quick skip across a fjord to touch down. Barry still pissy about the last leg. Mood: relaxed and somewhat smug.

Corkscrewed up to 5000ft to clear the snow-capped peaks followed by a chilled flight over fjords. Barry was as shocked as about the size of the airfield. Went for a walk to calm the nerves.

When I say "the wrong way round" I mean it ;)

I wish. Plan is to do this in very small chunks of 1-2h hours at a time, I think it'll take me 1, maybe 1.5 years to complete. I've done Cape Town to London via Dubai in the same plane, that took just over 3 months.

Short hop to start the adventure: low-flying, light winds, and a new joystick test. Nearly clipped a commercial airliner—Barry's unimpressed. Smooth landing, but parked miles from anywhere. Taxi time: 10 minutes. Mood: slightly embarrassed.
