Somehow everyone seems to have forgotten that the only real value of the written product is transmitting the thinking of the scholar-- and hasty thinking built on summaries of other thinking seems pretty useless.
In our recent book we argue the reason "Disney Adults" troubled folks is that they were seen as refusing to uphold "adult" responsibilities about focusing on "reality" (ie, thorny social issues). Which is maybe why its so notable to the media that-- surprise-- that is clearly not the case.
I am really sorry for your loss.
I was pretty disappointed in the Thursday Murder Club movie, and this explains a fair bit of why it seemed to assume the audience was deeply stupid.
