You will always be willing to go back and find context for things you don't fully understand if you start at the point that interests you most. I played Xenoblade 2 before 1 and it made some of the most hype moments with Malos so much more hype with additional context. Worth it fr.

Fighting games especially the new ones do put actual effort into their stories. I don't care much if an upcoming playable character is spoiled for me but the lore reason theyre in should remain up to me to find out.

Oh right, people really want new playable characters to be a surprise/spoiler too.

Its always gonna be case by case and its easier to see depending on your eyes, monitor, and genre of game.
It usually only matters for games with competitive scenes or games that flaunt performance and quality.
