A biologist at the American Museum of Natural History, Jonathan Coddington, cataloged a new genus of South American spiders in 1986.
Two things about the spider were unique:
they lived in caves & laid cubic eggs.

Very proud of our institute @fraunhoferisc.bsky.social! We participated in the @fraunhofer.bsky.social deep tech incubator #AHEAD and not 1, not 2, but 3 of our teams moved to phase 1! All three teams received funding to develop their ideas further, which is truly great!
The combination of art and science acts as a catalyst for the social mission of both fields—and offers scope for valuable synergies.
