Hello Rte 1. Feels like I’m coming home.

I don’t want to adult today.

When your adult child only calls you if they need something or if something is wrong, you are sometimes tempted to let it go to voicemail. But you can’t. It’s your child calling.

Walked outside to go do some grocery shopping and saw this on my car. THE POLLINATING. It has begun.

I even have a bag of glow in the dark ducks. Let the games begin.

I have a bag full of these little guys. Tomorrow, they go to work with me. Yes, I am going to plant them all over the office. Yes, I am that person. Everyone needs something to smile about sometimes….

Jeep is in the shop. It’s an all female crew working on it. I like that.

I particularly dislike adulting right now.

Hearing from my nephew that he is ok after a tornado touched down thisfuckingclose to him makes me breathe easier for the first time in almost 2 hours….

Dear rep: thank you from this fat girl’s lips for breakfast. My hips and the extra 5lbs I just gained are being ignored.

I got new throw pillows. She had to test them out.

I am on the late shift today. So why was I awake at 5am? Oh yeah, I’m old.

It’s cold. I let the dog sleep with me on the bed instead of on the floor in her dog bed. I am *allergic* to dogs. It’s now 2am and I am sneezing, itching and sucking down 2 Benadryl. Dog is still happily snoring away on my pillows, nice and warm. I love that dog.

Well, damn. Apparently, stress is good for weight loss. At least that’s what my scale just told me.

Got to start cooking ALL THE THINGS. What I really want to do is sit down and cuddle my dog.

Why tf was I awake starting at 5am on my day off? Because I am OLD. Apparently, once you train yourself to get up early, your body won’t let you sleep in anymore.

The dog is cuddled to me. The cocoon of blankets is warm. I really don’t want to go back to work today.

Middle age and middle of the night hot flashes that wake you up have become my new norm.

Can I go back in time a few years, please?

The Spawn asked me for a SALAD for dinner (just no tomatoes please Mom)???

I happily complied.

SOUP SEASON! Every Sunday as I meal prep for the week, I also make a vat of soup. Last week was curried butternut squash soup. This week???

Why is it so f*cking hard to get a flu shot this year if you are allergic to eggs? There are usually 2 forms of the shot that people like me can take, but one is on national back order and the other is out of stock everywhere.

Insomnia sucks

I went. And survived. Got tipsy with my son. Life does go on.

Huh. They want me to go out to dinner tonight, a day early, to celebrate my birthday. I haven’t done that since that night 34 years ago. I don’t know if I can do this.

After a long weekend of eating everything under the sun that I am not supposed to, and basically drinking my weight in alcohol on a daily basis for three days with no water in sight, I was fairly surprised to step on the scale today and see that I actually maintained my weight.

Oooh. Nice. I want to try your stylist!

Let the cooking begin for this weekends festivities. 3 pumpkin cheesecakes for Friday just came out of the oven. Lemon curd made. Will make a lemon and blueberry Bundt cake tomorrow

I have to admit, I live in a beautiful area.
