The foot is turned downward, with their toes closer to the ground than their heel. Said heel is pulling off from the ground and leaving a trail of dust, dirt, and urban debris behind it, with the whole foot trailing debris off from a recent impact. successfully bullied my endo into stopping the renewals on spiro (which I stopped taking like 8 months ago), getting prog added, and by the end he was so exasperated he refused to discuss details for options with injections and told me to "just talk to a compounding pharmacy it doesn't matter"

the stingray sound is rad, but not what I'm after, I have an irrational distaste for fender, spector is $$$ and don't hit right for me are, I don't want 5-string so that rules out the ibanez btb...Dunno! Old peaveys can be rad, jackson maybe?

the gsr250 DOES have a noisy preamp, but it sounds REALLY good (for my needs) otherwise. Not sure what I'd replace it with if I had to.

Maybe a schecter stiletto? Stuff tends to trend either "fender classic tone" or "darkglass"-y modern metal tone these days, and that's just...Not what I'm after.

Aye yeah that's the downfall of the standard SR range. they're TOO thin for sitting comfortably, where the chunkier srx basses of old & the cheaper gsr line has more meat & sits much more nicely

Honestly, I have no idea what I'd get to replace mine if I had to, it's such a unique sound that I love

These days my favorite is a very cheap gsr250, which...has its foibles and shows its cheapness, but it's got such a sweet, woody, rounded sound that you can do so much with, and I'm willing to deal with the kinda noisy preamp for the playability, sustain, and sound of it.

Like, I LOOOOVE the ergonomics and style of the soundgear basses, they're so damn comfy and play so nice, but it's the little things that frustrate. The SRX line has amazing pickups, but awful 2-band preamps with an output hotter than the sun that chew through battery.

If this works, "good enough" and sounds better at all, it's way way cheaper than a new preamp

this one also needs a new bridge tbh. saddle adjustment screws are all slippy and don't like to maintain height

gonna try bypassing the preamp on my old ibanez SRX and running a passive setup. It's such a hot fuckin signal and I honestly don't like the tone all that much anymore without a heap of distortion.
