you're so real for this π here for you and relate especially on this last bit
if you're looking for an alternative, @transnews.network is a great outlet
iβm at hennepin county government center for an emergency press conference & rally by inquilinxs unidxs por justicia demanding minneapolis city council override mayor freyβs veto of pause evictions, save lives to extend notice period from 30 to 60 days to help renters catch up after ICE occupation
When state leaders trust you to advocate at the Capitol, you're doing something right!
Rep. Samantha Sencer-Mura is backing Christin because she's already been doing the work. Organizing. Advocating. Building support for Minneapolis Public Schools.
also a reminder: the best thing you can do for trans people is to hire them. the second best thing you can do for trans people is to give them money directly.
it would be really cool and nice of you if you wanted to help me out π€ π
Itβs been a wild morning outside of City Hall β we had two HSI vehicles illegally parked on Minneapolis police parking right next to City Hall. The tow was called and had started being put on the car when the HSI agents arrived in shame, and were booed out by the several people, staff, & CMs.
thank you!!! π

i was gonna write out a big long post (or even a thread) about today being 12 years since i came out as trans, but instead i'll just say that it's wild that it's been so long, and it's wild that i'm still here and still doing my best. i'm proud of myself
pretty funny though you're right
i didn't even notice tbh, it's just my stock phrase for how i'm doing these days
fuck you're right
thank you so much!
tomorrow's my 12-year anniversary of coming out as trans, and i'm having a lot of feelings about it that i'll probably write up and post tomorrow
i am getting a group together to go bowling and celebrate on Friday night, i would love to see y'all there!

Elevated from replies: As of last Saturday, Hennepin County no longer uses Emergency Assistance funds to cover missed-month rent or damage/security deposits. This is good PR by the mayor (who would normally lecture any leftie proposing a $1m transfer) but wonβt meet need. bsky.app/profile/rmx....
I had no idea what the context for this was but found it in J.S. Pillsbury's wikipedia article π²
the 150th anniversary is next year, i kinda want to do some sort of silly community celebration for it!
i blame the end of this and every false spring on Governor JS Pillsbury - i hate his holy ice magic
Please listen to Minneapolis before you go back to that store
i hate the whiplash of loving my city and my neighbors and feeling a deep hatred in my gut towards most of the people running my city
iconic tbh
i hate the non-profit industrial complex and the way they slow, reduce, and exclude support from getting to people in need
fuck jacob frey
This is Freyβs entire plan to deal with the massive housing crisis his veto is about to cause.
whys the fucking mayor of MPLS have more vetoes than trump 1
I'm glad they've got commitments towards racial justice, that's great! I'm frustrated there's not really a commitment for the queer and trans community though - hopefully they'll still take some action in that direction?
