5. Stelvia from 'Stelvia' - space station highschool. Super high tech. Kinda boring. But it's still a liveable ship I've seen.

Honourable mention:
Kōtetsujō from 'Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress' - it's a train! While trying to escape zombies! Not a city, but I like the impromptu living conditions!

3. Nirvana from 'Vandread' - semi-sentient ship that has its own ecosystem! Also, mechs are cool! Plus, anime has ff and trans relationships

4. Ooarai High School Ship from 'Girls Und Panzer' - too modern and neat for my liking, but it gets point for explaining how the place runs! And it's cute!

Unwarranted Cat anime recommendations of anime that has liveable 'ships' (in order of preference)

1. Gargantia from 'Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet - liveable rust bucket in the ocean! Watch it!

2. Yamato from 'Space Battleship Yamato' - ground to space travel! Has a launching pad AND a BFG!

This makes sense!

Putting up emergency 'patches' to fix parts of the ship, and so many times over the years, would change the exterior! It would give the city an amazing rustic but liveable vibe, despite being set in a world with materials hard to come by!

Megastructures is such a fun setting! I immediately thought of 'Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet' and even 'Girls Und Panzer'! Espescially when working on how the ecosystem of such places!
