but if i'm not allowed to feed artists into my artist killing machine it's going to be basically impossible for the machine to keep killing artists. is that what you want?? and before you answer keep in mind this is a very expensive machine

i just read something that likened the administration to a “clown car of egomaniacal sycophants with the strategic acumen of a toddler playing Risk while hopped up on Pixy Stix” and that felt right

thank you so much! i find it pretty hilarious because i made this piece as a jokey response to a good-natured argument my brother and i had about it (he disagrees that they count as reading, which is fine because it affects me 0%). he thought the piece was funny! and then the internet exploded 🫠

3) polite disagreement simply isn’t a thing anyone does anymore

anyway, i’ve been called a lot of names and blocked like 35 people since yesterday and i *still* think audiobooks count as reading, so do with that what you will

what i’ve learned from having a post stating a controversial (though fairly innocuous) opinion go viral-ish on bluesky:

1) i was led to believe the discourse here was kinder? more thoughtful? nah, people are still awful if they disagree with you

2) people have a LOT of ways to call someone stupid

i’m honestly totally fine with polite disagreement! your opinion affects my enjoyment of and feelings about audiobooks exactly 0%! but dang, i sure have been called stupid in about 100 different ways over the last 24 hours 🫠

haha unfortunately i have not! i just use a single strand of floss, a very thin needle, and do teeny tiny back stitches!

People are like "the genie is out of the bottle with AI so we'll all have to live with it." No it isn't. No we won't. That isn't true

I have just enough audacity and delusion to think I can make anything. It might not look great but it’s definitely something that didn’t exist before.

doing my annual reread of jane austen’s novels and in chapter 19 of mansfield park sir thomas bertram says “but indeed, i would rather have nothing but tea.” and i was like “same, sir thomas.” so then i ransacked my tea stash to stitch this ☕️
