Going social media dark while I'm on a boat for a few days.
Be safe and good.
Thought from earlier this weekend.
There is something deeply amusing about a going out of business sale at a store called "Forever 21."
Unforseen consequence of return to offices are things like the following that happen on commutes...
Radio DJ: Here's Disturbed's "Down with the Sickness" - celebrating 25 years!
Me: *grooving* oh-wah-ah-ah-ah! Oh-wah-ah-wait...did he say 25 years?
*no longer grooving* No, oh no! OH NO!
Have not been fit for public consumption much in the last month or so.
Send cute things.
Who has two thumbs and bought a solo ticket to an event the themed after holiday typically celebrated by couples?
Maybe it will be good practice for a solo cruise this summer.
4)Jurassic World - Almost a perfect soft reboot. Evil Dinosaurs, though?
5) Fallen Kingdom - evil-er dinosaurs. Will never forgive for them cashing in on Dino connections in the first 4 movies to make me cry.
6) Jurassic Park 3 - Did the T-Rex Dirty. The Pterodactyl scene was cool.
Having now seen the Jurassic Park/World movies, here is a ranking that probably only matters to me.
1) Jurassic Park - The original. Classic. Spielberg.
2) The Lost World - Still Spielberg, but less somehow.
3) Dominion - Almost went back to its roots. Too little "Park" time.

As a cancer survivor, there's something jarringly dystopian about scheduling a scan only a few hours before receiving a work email that attempts to bully you into resigning.
29.01.2025 06:11 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0The backup cam and the indicators on the rear view mirrors are the two items I wish I had. The rest seems... excessive and creepy.
18.01.2025 22:04 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just turned in a loaner vehicle while my car got some much needed work done. The only thought I have on my experience with a newer car is: I am uncomfortable with how much I was surveiled while driving. Have safety features gone too far?
18.01.2025 18:09 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0She also has not breached the tub lid with more than her front paws since. She made a grave error in judgment and learned from it instead of repeating the same mistake 4 days, weeks, or years later.
17.01.2025 21:36 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0She ran her little paws like Wiley Coyote and, a moment later, shot out from the bottom of the tub and out of the danger zone.
She was OK, but likely very embarrassed a kitten of her intellect had gotten into that situation...
This stalemate continued and just as I decided to reach down and help her out of her situation she let go, and this tiny, yet determined kitten slid down the tub's side and down into the basin above the drain.
Needless to say, she was wet and very unhappy about this, so...
Nor did she expect betrayal by the plastic sheet, which weighted down ever so slightly on her as she suddenly tried to get away from her #2 nemesis (the water). She failed and failed and I could see the calculations going through her head. How would she get out of this?
17.01.2025 21:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0So investigate she did, slowly lowering her primary sensory apparatus (her nose) towards the bottom of the tub. She was slow and cautious, but what she didn't expect was how much core strength she'd need to pull herself back up...
17.01.2025 21:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0As she did this, protected as she was from the water laden inside of the tub by a plastic sheet, she became entranced by the river of water running down the tub beneath her.
One day, she decided that she absolutely must investigate.
You see, she didn't like being in a room I wasn't, and I was rarely in this one with the door open. She did take every opportunity to explore it though and was just getting confident enough in her balance to jump up on the bathtub ledge when I was showering.
17.01.2025 21:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I feel like I should start here with one of Olive's adventures. So, from the Adventures of Olive (appropriately AoO for short: Olive versus the shower.
A few months back my little troublemaker was still getting used to the bathtub area....
