Ukraine has actually a better perspective for joining NATO than the current US administration has for continued membership.

Rudder needs to come off to insert the stabilizer from the rear, in one pre-assembled piece to ensure matching incidence and dihedral. Stabilizer roots have been extended to aircraft centerline. But first I need to get the fin and rudder back to shape in sideview….

Dumb question: What is holding back EU/NATO nations from shooting down intruding drones? Lack of means, lack of resolve, both? Legal aspects?

You can be lean or resilient, but not both. For defense, I‘d prefer resilience. Federated forces with redundant command structures, distributed production, and diverse capabilities are not a bad proposition. We can still improve to cost efficiency of the acquisition process.
