Beware, Britain! Whether Trump's administration succeeds or fails, its evangelists will turn their sights on Britain and Europe.

I agree Britain's in great danger, as I wrote 2 weeks ago.

Billionaires or their ancestors get rich either by overcharging consumers or speculating in things that people need, raising their cost. This leaves people too poor to directly support those who deserve it. But it is the people's money supporting the military.

who creates the lively art and music scenes if the rent is too high? who makes cultural life? who serves you food or washes your dishes? who creates the fancy little restaurants that draw you to urban living? affordable housing is at the heart of what makes city life worthwhile.

When the president is destroying national landmarks, murdering fishermen, raising prices because he's angry over a Reagan video, and kidnapping parents in front of their crying children is probably not an ideal time to have a lazy, completely incompetent legislative branch perpetually on vacation.

New report confirms local government crisis is growing The Institute for Government’ annual review of the state of local government, published last week, paints an alarming picture

Local government isn’t β€œboring bureaucracy.” It’s social care, housing, libraries, leisure centres, youth clubs.

When these vanish, communities fracture – and people notice. When local government breaks, so does trust in politics itself.

Some people think too much money is going into COβ‚‚ removal (CDR) and more should be spent on decarbonization instead. The reality is that annual investment in CDR (~$190 million) is dwarfed by investment in renewables (~$2.1 trillion). That's over one million percent more for decarbonization.
