It’s no coincidence that there’s a whole chiptune scene based specifically around the DMG-01

*NEW THEME*

Get out your guitars for some pop punk or, on the contrary, to serenade the one you secretly love in the classroom next door.
In any case, the theme is high school, so let's go!

Title: "The Haters"

panel 1.
Two round characters sit in a cinema.
Yellow blob "I hate this!"
Red Blob "Me too!"

Panel 2.
They have left the cinema
Red blob "I hated every minute of that film! It was nothing like the book!"

Panel 3.
"Did you like the book?" asks Yellow.
Red replies "I hated it!" then asks "You?"

Panel 4.
Yellow blob "I've not read it. I hated the film purely on its own merits."

Panel 5.
Red blob "I'll lend you my copy."
Yello blob"That's very kind."

Panel 6.
Caption: "Later"
Yellow, reading the book "I hate this!"
Red (happily) "I knew you would!!"

A young woman in traditional attire sells a variety of goods, mostly jewelry, from a small window stand in the historic village of Abyaneh in Iran.

The people here maintain their own dialect, and I believe the village has been inhabited for over 2,500 years. It's a UNSECO world heritage site.

They're pretty far removed from military action, but I still hope they're all okay and continue to be.

An 80s synthwave background with, neon purple, pink, and purple grid as far as the horizon and a blazing golden sunrise with hot pink stripes.
Header reads 'Happy International Women's Day'
TTRPGirls logo bottom left, a neon blue striped triangle behind the words ttrp in blocky blue and pink font, and girls in white cursive.
EUphoria's logo bottom left, a round yellow frame with navy blue background, and a large shooting star made up of yellow d4s streaking from right to left, a yellow tail trailing behind.

Happy International Women's Day!

Today is an especially good day to celebrate the women and femmes in your life. Buy them a coffee, send them flowers, promote their projects, just drop them a note to tell them how much they mean to you.

Uplift women, fight the patriarchy, today and every day.

Gosh I suck at composition but it’s still so much fun smooshing instrumentation together

A four panel comic:
Panel 1 - two stick figures converse while a third says ‘Encore une fois’
Panel 2 - identical, but the third figure seems irked and repeats themselves
Panel 3 - as Panel 2, third figure more annoyed
Panel 4 - the third figure is angrily bellowing ‘Encore une fois’, shocking the other two

Encore Une Fois (SASH!, 1997)

Confusingly there’s a Mega Drive Lotus II which actually looks to be a port of Lotus III

If you’re interested in exploring Beefheart further (assuming you’re unfamiliar) most people will recommend Trout Mask Replica. I personally find it hard going, and would suggest Spotlight Kid/Clear Spot, Bat Chain Puller and Ice Cream for Crow as being more accessible (albeit still uneven)

I’ve only listened to a dozen or so of his albums but the quality jumps all over the place. I’d recommend Waka/Jawaka and Make a Jazz Noise Here. The Cheap Thrills compilations are also if you’re after an overall Zappa taster

YES. That ratcheting noise is such a weird choice but sits perfectly in the track

I completely agree, Bomberman is a fantastic mp game. SWOS is a great pick - one of the most responsive and immediate sports games ever made. I loved Speedball 2 as well, though have to concede it’s a little clunky to play now
