Thank you Paul 🙏
The Slag Heap
An early morning start yesterday as the forecast was for fog at a location I’ve tried to photograph with fog for some time.
-4 as I stepped out of the van and a quiet walk down through the winter conditions. Lovely to finally get a shot that I’ve been waiting for.

Thank you Shaun 🙏
Forest Peripheries
Delving into the woodland, reaching for the light.
Straight lines and contrast again for this weeks phone image.
I have taken a lot of building shots for my weekly project, I should really look at doing a project with the camera.

Just back from 5 days in Venice a place I haven’t been for over 30 years. Had a great week making memories with my daughter. This is one of many phone shots taken. It’s a beautiful city that I hope to return soon
Today’s photograph comes from the Scottish Lowlands, taken during a wild snowstorm… conditions were challenging but oh so enjoyable!
WIP Weekend
Something different this weekend and an image I was working on a couple of weeks ago, to me the simple appeal of the smooth dark waters on one side and the bright details popping out on the other.

Steeple and Spire
Thanks Mick 🙏
It’s a fantastic book.
The sun was out yesterday and there were some great locations I came across with wonderful shapes and shadows which work well with a nice contrasting look.
I shot several different compositions but this one jumped out the most.

Thanks Damian.
WIP Weekend
I have been looking through photographs from my Venice trip just months before lockdown and came across this composition.
Walking up and down the narrow lanes, seeing where they take you.
The curve of the wall and the beautiful Venetian buildings on the other side of the canal.
A birthday episode with Jim Mortram (@smalltowninertia.bsky.social) discussing his new book Small Town Inertia 2.

Another building for this weeks weekly phone image, the tonal changes between the glass and the steel structure has always appealed, but it’s the processing which can make these types of shots pop out.

Well that’s the first photography talk of 2027 in the diary!
I started presenting my current talk, Not Just a Single Photograph, in September last year and from this summer I will be offering a new talk, The Photobook… I have a bit of time to brush up my knowledge 🫣
Just 3 available copies left now of this 1st edition.
Thank you M. for coming back for a 2nd copy of my zine 'One night'
Wonderful.

I took a similar photograph last year and I’ve tried several times to repeat it without success, this week I think I have managed, and this shot was taken close to last years.
For a little difference I have tried to capture the curve of the road this time.

This was a discussion I’ve been looking forward to recording.
Coming 19 February 2026.

Until Sunday afternoon I didn’t have many options but there was a local location I was going to visit before I ventured into the centre.
I took several shots of the curves and reflections of this building and this has the least imperfections.

WIP Weekend
Another week has passed and I have been working on this edit over the last few days.
A shot dating back to 2019, it is heavily cropped in to capture the tree and the only other exposed area of land as the morning mist sweeps across the fields.
Just like buses.
You don't get a new book for months then 3 arrive at once.
3 packages all full of wonderful inspiration, from

@andrewatkinson.bsky.social
@natural-landscapes.bsky.social
Get one while you can.
Thanks for the support Dylan 🙏
I’ve got a handful of copies left from the second print run and all profits going to charity circa35mm.com/art-store/p/...
Some days are better than others. Today came with good and the bad. The bad is I’m riddled with flu 🤧 The good is I sent £2900 to @dementiauk.bsky.social from the profits of my first solo photo book -Sea
Thanks everyone who was involved and especially those who purchased a copy
