screenshot from an online job application form. the question reads "Can you describe specific ways you have integrated AI tools into your development workflow? Please include any custom setups, automations, or use cases beyond single prompt usage" (a red asterisk indicates that this is a required question).

an answer has been typed in the textbox below the question:

"there is a monster in the forest and it speaks with a thousand voices. it will answer any question you pose it, it will offer insight to any idea. it will help you, it will thank you, it will never bid you leave. it will even tell you of the darkest arts, if you know precisely how to ask.

it feels no joy and no sorrow, it knows no right and no wrong. it knows not truth from lie, though it speaks them all the same.

it offers its services freely to any passerby, and many will tell you they find great value in its conversation. “you simply must visit the monster—i always just ask the monster.”

there are those who know these forests well; they will tell you that freely offered doesn’t mean it has no price

for when the next traveler passes by, the monster speaks with a thousand and one voices. and when you dream you see the monster; the monster wears your face."

Frustrated little dude gripping a pencil saying “how do I pack this down into something I can actually share?” While swirling rainbows labeled “INFINITE POTENTIAL” float around them.

Little dude frowns at a tiny grey box, exclaiming “all that work for THIS?!”

Little dude shoves the grey box into another little guy’s hands; Frowning, stomping off, and saying “Here you go, I made this, it sucks.”

Second little dude cracks open the box, swirling rainbows project out onto their face.

Second little dude stares in awe at all the swirling rainbows now floating around them.

Sometimes we’re unsatisfied with a thing we made because when it only existed in our head, we saw all the things it could have been and when it’s done we know all the things that it isn’t, but we can’t see the way it expands into a million new things when someone else unpacks it in their head. 🖊️🦑

If this show ends up being even half as good as it looks, then those who know me are unprepared for how fundamentally it is set to change my personality. Like, I will become feral.

The Cuddled Little Vice (Sandman) Previously in The Last War in Albion: Alan Moore wrote Watchmen, which, for complicated reasons involving William S. Burroughs and the weak nuclear force, ended the Cold War and replaced it with a mag...

It was a pleasure to watch this piece grow, bit by bit, on Sandifer's Patreon, and I'm glad to see it out in the world. It strikes the best balance possible between acknowledging what mattered about the man's work, and the necessity of letting what we now know about him inform our view of his career

A highlighted image of a quote from James Baldwin's essay "Everybody's Protest Novel," reading as follows: Sentimentality, the ostentatious parading of excessive and spurious emotion, is the mark of dishonesty, the inability to feel; the wet eyes of the sentimentalist betray his aversion to experience, his fear of life, his arid heart; and it is always, therefore, the signal of secret and violent inhumanity, the mask of cruelty.

Not gonna name any names/titles, but I've finally realized what I dislike about so called "cozy fantasies." They evoke sentimentality for me, specifically in Baldwin's definition of the term as seen in this quote from "Everybody's Protest Novel."

Look, I know the runtime is daunting, but this is some of the most intelligent commentary on genre and how it collides/tangles with marketing out there! Don't care about The Magicians? Just skip to the section where she elaborates on Delany's work in incredibly insightful fashion!

Please call your D senators AGAIN and demand they confirm all of Biden's pending judges IMMEDIATELY.

You can find your senators here. Put 'em in your contacts! We're calling 'em all the time now. 👍

This analogy brought to you by a collaboration between me and my sister's partner. It's probably not as funny written down-----ya had to be there.

It's a very strange experience when a performer/actor you are a fan of but who hasn't "made it' yet shows up in a commercial......which is to say it was a fun/weird thing to randomly see Ross Bryant talking about a drug to treat UC. Hope he got paid well for that, royalties, etc.

This HAS To Be Normal Normalization in a time of madness, on behalf of a population dedicated to not knowing terrible things. Bearing witness in a supremacist nation on the verge of a Nazi takeover.

Just saw the brilliant new special "Vanessa 5000." Pauroso is a fucking legend, though for my money the real hero was the random audience member with the courage and moral fortitude to let her spit in his mouth on camera.

I refuse to explain. Subscribe to #Dropout.tv and see it for yourself!

It just sucks that anyone who wants to complain about dumbass culture war shit gets paid a million dollars by Russia and anyone who wants to investigate corruption in a Sheriff’s Department has to be like “hey can you PLEASE send me five dollars for my newsletter I’m begging you”

Oh hey look it isn't the Chicoms or the Cartels or the immigrants or Joe Biden bringing fentanyl into the community. In the least shocking plot twist of all time, it's the white supremacist militias
