Two scientists from the Pixar film Hoppers hold up a beaver robot on a docking station.

No spoilers, but Pixar's latest film Hoppers was great. The scientists were picture perfect and my mom would have loved every bit of it. Very much worth going to see in the theater.

A memorial tribute to comic artist Diana Green with four drawings of a tall woman smiling at the camera, sitting behind mini comics, grinning in sunglasses, and playing an electric guitar. Text: Diana Greenโ€™s laugh was loud and she took up space. She was a woman who lived in a perpetual state of limerence: people, comics, music, teaching, cartoons, and existence. I tried to say all of this at her funeral, but wasnโ€™t able to get more than a few words out. If she had been there, to make a knee-bucklingly bad pun, I probably would made a better job of it. Diana was big in a way that made me feel less small. Miss you, Di. umh, 2026

A black and white photograph from 1937 by Russell Lee for the WPA. A big joyful Mexican-American family gathers around their kitchen table after working in the sugar beet fields of East Grand Forks, Minnesota. They are drinking cups of coffee together. There are four adults and five children. Everyone, minus one little child who looks straight at the camera, is smiling with love at a baby held warmly and securely in a woman's lap.

The new Two Towers Trick-Taking Game is out today! This is a photo of the game and book with no spoilers and lots of little toy horses, towers, and other small loved things from our home.

My own @bbornmueller.bsky.social's new game is out today! It is hard here in Minneapolis, but we are still making art and taking care of our neighbors because that's what artists must do.

A diptych: The first with pens and pencils spread across a work table, the second with those pens neatly organized into various jars and mugs.

New Year's pen/pencil/mark-making-tibbets of all types reckoning and reconnoitering.

Altered book sketch of pistachio cream candy from Tarfalla in Spain.

Day 21: Pistachio cream candy from Tarfalla in Spain. A delightful continuation of good things coming my way from Spain in 2025! Visually unassuming, but both the kid and I put this one at the top tier of our charts. Apparently you can take a tour of the factory. New bucket list item unlocked!

Altered sketchbook drawing of Salty liquorice taffy from Finland.

Day 20: Salty liquorice taffy from Finland which made me feel nostalgic for the high arctic. It made the kid feel deeply skeptical.

Altered sketchbook drawing of chewy yogurt candy from Greece.

Day 19: Chewy yogurt candy from Greece. I liked this one and was surprised the kid, who eats yogurt daily, emphatically did not. Chewy yogurt was just too high a bar to cross.

Altered sketchbook drawing of Turkish sour cola chewy toffee.

Day 18: Turkish sour cola chewy toffee. This was a really fascinating hard to describe candy. The cola wasn't our favorite, but I am going to seek out other flavors.

Goat Magic from @kagwheeler.bsky.com tops our kids list, unsurprising since we hosted a launch event. A Cat Story from @umurrayhusted.bsky.social and Mooncakes have been consistent favorites in the store from 2023 to 2025! Plus we have our favorite not-lesbian transfemme rep in Girlmode. :3

Altered sketchbook review of Selz Lemon Soda candy

Day 14: Italian lemon soda candy. I adore lemon soda and like bitter citrus, so this candy not being to my taste was kind of a bummer. Pretty typography, though.
