Summoning the gamedev hivemind. Is there a good way to assemble a tutorial? I'm in a hurry, so I just took the scene with the current game loop, hard-coded stuff, added narrative, it just works. This doesn't feel right tho. Any hints to assemble something less hacky?

Spent some hours working on this new type of Enemy. Got inspired by Zelda: Link's Awakening masked enemy. I like how it emphasises teamwork a lot.

Character design work. I was thinking about adding a Necromancer unit in my game, someone who could restore life to other characters, and came up with this design.

Not necessarily using this in the game, but had fun in the process.

BTW, the chick robot eventually became a character and I'm using it to tutorial information to the Player. There's more to it to this character, it is my hommage to Final Fantasy VII Caith Sith.

Here's concept art for the recovery system (lineart only).
I usually draw something that has a nice vibe, than I turn it into a game mechanic.
Probably not the optimal approach, but this is the one that I enjoy.
