Tom Noonan gives one of my all-time favorite performances in Manhunter, his Francis Dollarhyde is pitch-perfect: somehow both utterly terrifying and heartbreakingly human. I still get chills when I watch this scene -- Noonan and Joan Allen are phenomenal here.

The Guide is saddened to hear of the passing of beer writer Des de Moor.
He was generous in sharing his extensive knowledge of the London beer scene and it was always a pleasure to cross paths and compare notes.
RIP Des, the next beer is for you 🍻
So sorry to hear about Des De Moor. He was a lovely man and, as a beer writer, without parallel in his commitment to accuracy and delightfully straightforward language. He will be sorely missed.

Manhunter (1986) 🎬🖤

Blanche de Namur, on draft in t'Loosje in Amsterdam, was one of my greatest ever beer moments. Super duper.
Mort Subite Lambicus Blanche at their bar in Brussels was also a highpoint.

Despite Bronson's revenge subplot, the whole of Once Upon a Time in the West is her story and she handles it perfectly.

Here is the Sun's pitifully small apology for its lie about benefits tourism - a lie that was accepted as truth by millions and helped deliver Brexit.
These lies are perverting our democracy. At a minimum, apologies should be published in the same location and size as the lie.
Sorry to hear your news. Take care of yourself.

Good tips, ta. He's definitely already hit Higgins, but somehow seems to have missed Spaten there. Will pass Zum Durnbrau on to him.
@finnovski.bsky.social Hello. Do you know where my mate could find draft Spaten in the centre of Munich? I don't think they have their own bar anymore, do they?

Hilariously I've managed to injure myself on the way to the train station, so I can no longer attend the Proms tonight. If anyone can use two free tickets please let me know (£free).
It's a great piece of music
